POSITION OVERVIEW

To support the maintenance needs, both mechanical and electrical, of Operations and Production in both standard and non-standard conditions, including troubleshooting and repair, preventative, and predictive maintenance. Responsible for maintaining and repairing production/ processing equipment to reduce machine-related downtime, eliminate losses, and improve machine reliability. To coach Production Technicians and junior Maintenance Technicians to develop skills and to resolve maintenance issues.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs mechanical and electrical duties of a complex nature including advanced planned maintenance, certified inspections, high voltage work, develop equipment/ component improvement programs, perform predictive maintenance, develop inspection programs, advanced PLC, and equipment redesign (Both Standard and Non-Standard Conditions)
  • Participates in cross-functional improvement teams and problem-solving activities
  • Serve as a Trainer and Mentor to Maintenance Technicians and Production Technicians
  • Investigate and communicate root cause failure analysis, including recommending and implement resolutions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and manuals
  • Adheres to safety/ GMP standards, ensuring a safe work environment and reporting food safety issues to the site leadership

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5-7 years of experience in an Industrial Mechanic or Electrician role, preferably in the food industry. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across facilities and promote teamwork and team discussions

 

  • Basic and Advanced Mechanic Skills and Advanced Electrical Skills, Advanced Troubleshooting, Advanced PLC, Ladder Logic, HMI, Robotics, Sensors and Instrumentation Calibration, Certified Inspections, Safety Relays – Electrical, Safety Circuits – Electrical, Electrical Board Troubleshooting

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Vocational education or Technical Degree/ Certification as an Industrial Maintenance Technician would enhance the performance of the job.
