Senior Financial Analyst (eCommerce and Club Channel Marketing)

Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting all key financial activities for the Defensive, eCommerce, and Club Channel Marketing teams.  This includes coordination, analysis, and recommendations for management reporting, annual plan, budget, quarterly forecast, Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, explanation of monthly results, scenario planning and special projects in support of these businesses.  This position is responsible for providing key financially driven insights to cross functional business partners, and actively participates in both short-term and long-term decision-making activities.



  • Serving as a key business partner to support the commercial team’s strategic initiatives and business planning
  • Managing Defensive, eCommerce and Club Channel P&L’s and providing monthly business reporting and analysis versus forecast, budget, and prior year
  • Active participation in the annual plan, budget, quarterly forecast, and IBP processes for the Defensive, eCommerce, and Club Channels
  • Effectively creating, interpreting, and communicating complex financial models with a wide variety of cross functional business partners for business team P&L’s
  • Using critical thinking in the decision-making process to draw upon professional experience, market and industry knowledge, data, and intuition
  • Interacting with cross-functional teams and various management levels within McCormick and presenting to high-level audiences
  • Leveraging systems to improve analytics and processes to drive data-based insights
  • Utilizing best practice financial reporting to meet the needs of the functional leaders, external authorities, and the stakeholders of the Company
  • Lead and support special projects in support of the Defensive, eCommerce, and Club Channel teams




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required, MBA/CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis / accounting preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing environment or other supply chain / costing area preferred
  • Experience participating on projects, supporting sales and marketing initiatives, preferred
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of the capabilities of transaction & reporting systems including, but not limited to SAP, Business Warehouse, TM1, or other local systems.
  • In-depth understanding of available reporting, drill down capabilities, and ability to organize data in a way that adds value to analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word, and Power Point), with advanced Excel skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal (written and verbal) communications skills required with a demonstrated ability to work across functions & cultures, and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability of being a dynamic self-starter, to work independently and apply sound judgment to solve complex problems with incomplete and/or ambiguous information and to proactively initiate action steps required
  • Demonstrated ability required to work independently, to handle multiple projects at once, to work under pressure, to apply judgment, to respect deadlines and to ask for aid in prioritizing work as applicable
