OVERVIEW
The Federal Tax Manager is responsible for the preparation & review of the pro forma and consolidated federal tax return, research & document of federal tax positions, technical support of income tax compliance software systems and accurate and timely reporting of income taxes for financial statement purposes
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage federal tax compliance process including the preparation and review of the pro forma and consolidated federal tax return
- Review and analysis of business transactions and related tax reporting requirements
- Research and provide tax technical guidance related to federal income tax issues
- Prepare and timely file quarterly federal tax estimates and extension
- Administer tax software and timely electronically file (efiling) federal return
- Prepare and/or review responses to the federal taxing authority notices, inquiries, and correspondences.
- Assist with US GAAP income tax reporting requirements under ASC740 including quarterly income tax forecasts, annual budgeted income tax provisions that includes but not limited to calculating temporary & permanent adjustments & reconcile deferred tax balances
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance
- 5+ years of experience in tax (Subchapter C) with a combination of public & private
- Working knowledge of federal tax return preparation and ASC740/FIN48
- Technology proficiency (i.e. CorpTax, SAP, Hyperion, Excel, on-line tax research)
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to communicate complex concepts in ways that are meaningful to and useful to non-tax professionals
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent quantitative skills
- Excellent tax research, analytical and writing skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree in finance or related field
