This new hire will be based at McCormick's Global Headquarters, located in Hunt Valley, MD and will be eligible to participate in our hybrid work program (50% onsite, 50% remote per month). The Finance Director, Global Marketing will report to a Seniorr Finance Director, Global Commercial COE.

Position Overview:
The Director for Global Marketing Finance is a key business partner to the Global Marketing Organization and divisional Commercial teams by leading the finance team and facilitating actionable insights/analytics and sound decision making that results in the achievement of the financial objectives of the business.  Responsibilities include active involvement and leadership within the sales and marketing processes to support the execution of A&P programs, MDF, Slotting, Coupon, and Royalties including financial planning, annual budgeting, LTP, forecasting, spend optimization, and controls. Identifying and implementing best practices related to financial reporting, analytics, and controls across regions for these mentioned areas. This role is also responsible for clear communication across the stakeholders for these areas to ensure alignment of financial objectives, reporting and analytical insights.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads, manages, and supports the production of regional reporting, analysis and insight related to A&P and marketing spend (MDF, slotting, coupons) and royalties.
  • Oversee financial support for A&P and marketing spend including consolidation, reporting, variance analysis, marketing mix/ROI analysis, volume forecast inputs, CCI, barter, and key investment decision support. Provide key finance business partner support for the Global Marketing Excellence team.
  • Drive global standardization and implement best practices globally for A&P and marketing spend reporting, analytics, barter and related CCI activities.
  • Ensure integrity, financial control, SOX compliance, and proper accounting treatment in line with policies and procedures for all marketing spending programs, barter transactions, and other related key activities
  • Leads, manages, and supports the talent and capability within the Marketing Finance Center of Excellence group to include accountability for the team’s talent management processes and employee development. 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business (or related)
  • 7+ years finance experience with a minimum of 5+ years of senior level financial planning / analysis, commercial / sales finance or accounting experience required. 
  • 3+ years’ experience managing people
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Experience with commercial finance activities such as pricing, A&P and trade spend and related systems
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of financial and analytical techniques required. 
  • Ability to influence and interact effectively with all levels and areas of the organization is required.
  • Adaptability - Work well under constant pressure and critical deadlines. 
  • Proven experience to be able to articulate difficult ideas and concepts through concise verbal and/or written communication
  • Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of financial and analytical techniques
  • Proven ability to apply discretion and prioritize competing agendas
  • Proven experience in being able to build and sustain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Strong technical Finance understanding and business acumen
  • Proven ability to interpret data, order and assess its value and present the findings to the relevant stakeholders concisely
  • Microsoft Office with strong Excel and Power Point skills.
