Finance Global Delivery Lead - Global Enablement

McCormick & Company, Inc., a global leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking a full-time Finance Global Delivery Lead supporting our Global Enablement (GE) function. The Finance Global Delivery Lead will report to the VP, Global Enablement. This position will be based at McCormick's global headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland and will be eligible to participate in McCormick's hybrid work program (50% onsite, 50% remote per month).

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Finance Global Delivery Lead will be responsible for overall accounting & finance activities across the Global Enablement (GE) function, reporting directly to the VP of Global Enablement.  Scope of responsibilities include direct day-to-day leadership of the global Record to Report team within GE, responsibility and oversight of the accounting & SOX controls for all areas of GE globally (e.g. O2C, P2P, GDA, H2R, Credit), overall global financial close process within GE, and final account reconciliation reviewer across GE to ensure proper accounting principles & methods are applied.  The role will be a key business partner within the GE Function to Corporate Controllership & Internal Audit on driving standardization across the McCormick enterprise.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the R2R financial close, account reconciliation review, and rebate accounting processes for US, Canada, and EMEA.
  • Provide functional expertise and oversight of the financial close & account reconciliation process, in partnership with Global Delivery Leads, for all threads within GE: Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Hire to Retire, and Global Data Administration.
  • Responsible for the global performance of GE’s Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, and coordination of audit support with both internal & external auditors.
  • Provide leadership to the cash & banking team supporting EMEA. 
  • Drive improved performance & remedying service issues, balanced with achieve service delivery goals, targets for process cost, process effectiveness, and customer satisfaction for R2R.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders (i.e., Controllership, Regional Leadership) and colleagues in cross functions.
  • Lead delivery of key strategic projects within GE & partnering with cross functional teams (i.e., IT, Corporate Development).
  • Lead, manage, and develop global team of professional staff.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field of study
  • CPA required
  • At least 12+ years of experience with US GAAP accounting, controls, and reporting (public accounting experience with multinational SEC registrants required)
  • Experience leading the execution of global financial close, reconciliation preparation, and reporting tasks
  • Ability to design, implement, and maintain a global system of internal controls and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations
  • In depth knowledge of matters impacting multi-national corporations, including currency translation and hedging, intercompany eliminations, etc.
  • Ability to interact with and present to all levels of the organization to drive alignment to strategy & decision making (Controller, VP levels), and direct execution through their teams (Director, Manager, Analyst levels)
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility and positive working relationships cross-functionally to effectively drive business objectives
