Financial Analyst II - Sales/Commercial

The Commercial and Sales Finance Analyst II is responsible for leading all Marketing spend commercial finance activities for McCormick’s acquired brands, including French’s, Franks, Stubbs, Zatarain’s, Gourmet Garden, and Simply Asia. This includes support of management reporting, annual strategic and operating plan, budget, monthly/quarterly forecast, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, and explanation of actual monthly results, general ledger reconciliation and SOX administration.   This role will also assist with financially supporting the Walmart Region Sales Team.  It provides analytics and support regarding profitability, utilization of financial measures, spending control and optimization. 



  • Serving as the primary business partner for the Marketing Excellence team to execute strategic initiatives and business planning
  • Managing the A&P and Coupon spend lines, providing monthly business reporting and analysis versus forecast, budget and prior year
  • Interacting with cross-functional teams and presenting analysis and key findings
  • Execute and load Export pricing
  • Utilizing best practice financial reporting to meet the needs of the functional leaders
  • Support the development and preparation of volume/trade forecast on a monthly/annual basis, helping to identify risks and opportunities, including ownership of the daily sales reporting.
  • Owns the pricing execution responsibilities for Walmart, including price increases, allowance structure and new items.
  • Provide support on monthly/quarterly business reviews, Sales G&A review/updates, and communication of trade budgets and strategies to the Sales Field. 
  • Develop, document and ensure adequate controls exist for the trade spending process including monitoring of TPM forecast accruals, planned spending and amounts available for planning for all customers in the assigned Sales Regions. 
  • Assist in analyzing customer specific requests from the Sales Field and partnering to develop financial P&Ls, analytics, scenarios, and ROI metrics to allow for fact-based decision making related to customer requests. 
  • Providing insight and direction in the development of customer contracts, pricing and deal structures and coordination with the Global Enablement Team.
  • Ad-hoc projects as assigned




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting, Financial, or equivalent business function analysis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the capabilities of transaction & reporting systems including, but not limited to SAP, Business Warehouse, TM1, or other local systems.
  • In-depth understanding of available reporting drill down capabilities, and ability to organize data in a way that adds value to analysis.
  • Intermediate/Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Power Point)
  • Excellent interpersonal (written and verbal) communications skills with a demonstrated ability to work across functions & cultures and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects at once, work under pressure, apply judgment and ask for aid in prioritizing as applicable.
