McCormick & Company, Inc., a global leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking a full-time Global Contract Manager. This new hire will work in Hunt Valley, MD. The Global Contract Manager will report to a Global Contracts Attorney.

Responsible for analyzing and negotiating business contracts and commercial terms in vendor contracts for indirect procurement, ingredients, packaging, and co-manufacturing vendors. Additionally, responsible for mitigating risk to the business through robust contract terms including cost overruns, vendor non-performance, or other unfavorable commercial terms. Scope of role is global and will be supporting all four regions, including engaging and providing recommendations to senior cross functional leadership.



Manages the contract negotiation lifecycle, including drafting, evaluating, negotiating, reviewing, redlining and executing commercial terms within vendor contracts

Consultswith senior cross functional stakeholders, procurement leads, and internal counsel for input into contractual terms

Leads negotiations with vendor on contract terms

Develops and implements legal standards for vendor contractual terms

Develops, implements, and maintains templates for common contract types and a library of approved contractual clauses designed to mitigate and manage business risk in a consistent manner.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • 3+ years experience in procurement, contract management or similar field
  • Experience working with suppliers and vendor contractors
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Business savvy – has confidence to maintain a firm position and recognize when to concede
  • Detail-oriented
  • Solid understanding of the business and industry
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex and ambiguous problems
