We are seeking a full time Global Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer. This position is based at McCormick’s worldwide headquarters located in Hunt Valley, Maryland on a hybrid schedule. The Global Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer will report to our Chief Human Relations Officer. Relocation will be provided if needed.

About This Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Global Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer to lead and champion our global diversity and inclusion strategy and initiatives. In this strategic role, you will collaborate closely with the Executive Team, Global HR Leadership Team, and employees at all levels to develop and implement programs that promote a sense of belonging, equity, and inclusion. The Global Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer will play a critical role in continuing to shape our company culture, strengthening our commitment to diversity, and driving positive change within the organization.
What you will be doing:
- Strategy Execution: Develops and implements the DE&I vision and strategy in alignment with the enterprise growth, performance and people roadmap and organizational values. Partners closely with the CHRO and Global HR Leadership Team to ensure People priorities align with diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies, including recruitment, career support and progression, policies, compensation, performance, leadership development, as well as employee engagement, retention, and belonging. Ensures measurement of programs and utilizes data to drive actionable insights.
- Internal Stakeholder Management & Development: Oversees the Global DE&I Council, Global Employee Ambassador Groups (EAGs) and other DE&I focused groups. Plays a leading role in DE&I-related internal communications and leads the annual Global Employee Town Hall planning & execution. Advises top management, senior leaders, global HR team members, and all employees on diversity, equity, and inclusion related matters. Champions learning & development initiatives to increase knowledge and capability across the organization.
- External Stakeholder Management & Development: Oversees external partnerships, contributes to industry groups, and directs survey and benchmarking processes. Consults with Commercial and Corporate teams on customer and market-related matters as well as Purpose-Led Performance initiatives. In partnership with Global Communications, plays a key role in DE&I-related external communications and social issues/crisis management.
- Management of the DE&I Center of Expertise: Oversees the structure, ways of working and development of direct team members as well as indirect resources globally. Accountable for budget, goal setting, performance management, and development for the COE. Develops and maintains policies and processes to govern and guide the organization. Partners closely with other HR COEs in the areas of talent management, learning, total rewards, employee engagement and wellbeing, and employee relations.
- Diversity Equity and Inclusions programs: Collaborate with Global Talent &Learning, Global Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners to manage, review and update policies, procedures, and practices to ensure fairness, inclusivity and equitable workplace.
What you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
- Deep knowledge of global DE&I managing large, complex programs, generally gained through a minimum of 10 years of experience working in DE&I
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrated global leadership experience in a D&I role.
- Minimum 3 years of significant experience interacting with executive teams and/or boards of directors.
- Demonstrated understanding of cultural values and norms of various communities and global perspectives, particularly historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing global diversity and inclusion strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to work and build trust across all levels of an organization and cultures.
- Active listener, clear communicator who is comfortable having difficult and courageous conversations.
- Energetic and action-oriented leader with excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
- Ability to exercise influence and diplomacy, establishing effective relationships in a matrixed organization.
- Ability to maintain a high level of personal and business integrity and confidentiality and to exercise discretion in handling sensitive situations.
- Willingness to actively participate in the work and see initiatives through to completion.
