We are looking to hire a Global SAP Analytics Product Owner immediately in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Position Overview:

 

The Product Line Strategy Owner (PLSO) is responsible for the vision, delivery, and support of all technology related to their product line. They set priorities for improvements to products, platforms, and associated features/functions designed to support their business function. The PLSO works closely with business partners throughout the organization to plan, implement, and deploy programs and projects, ensuring successful delivery and the ongoing health of platforms. They identify portfolio gaps and determine the best way to address them, whether through new product/service acquisitions or by leveraging existing platforms to deliver new services. The goal is to optimize the technology landscape while meeting maximum business requirements.

This PLSO role specifically focuses on driving the SAP Analytics component of our ERP migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. This offers the opportunity to shape and transform SAP Analytics and reporting globally within McCormick, all within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has a blend of in-depth SAP Analytics knowledge and expertise in the Analytics/reporting capabilities of ECC and S/4HANA.

This role will define and enable complex SAP Analytics solutions and processes through technical analysis, design, testing, and sustainment. This individual needs a comprehensive understanding of cross-functional business systems and technical best practices. Additionally, the candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure ECC and S/4HANA Analytical solutions function optimally, including diagnosing/resolving technical issues, optimizing performance, and collaborating on configuration changes and upgrades to meet evolving business needs.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Technical Strategy Development: Set a vision for the SAP Analytics product line, shaping global IT technical strategies and roadmaps to support business initiatives.
  •  Product Lifecycle Management: Assume full responsibility for products within the line, including vendor management, performance, budget approvals, and lifecycle oversight.
  • Define Analytics Architecture: Design data models, data flows, and integration strategies for SAP analytics, including BW/4HANA, SAC, and Datasphere.
  • Integrate with Cloud Analytics Platforms: Develop strategies to connect SAP data flows with cloud platforms like Azure, GCP, and Power BI, leveraging your expertise in these systems.
  • Project Management and Execution: Plan, implement, operate, and track the progress of all workstreams within the product line roadmap.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Manage relationships with senior leaders, interact with cross-sector IT leaders, provide subject matter expertise, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Business Alignment: Analyze business requirements and functional specifications to design and implement effective technical solutions that support cross-functional business needs.
  • System Design & Maintenance: Formulate system scope and complex solutions, provide post-implementation support, and perform regular system maintenance.

 

Global SAP Analytics Strategy:

  • Strategic SAP Analytics Leadership: Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive SAP Analytics strategy, aligned with the S/4HANA migration roadmap and experience in leading Analytics requirements gathering and blueprinting workshops.
  • Seamless Data Migration: Design and implement a seamless data architecture plan from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA.
  • Ensure Ongoing ECC Analytics Support: Maintain and troubleshoot existing SAP ECC Analytics solutions to guarantee business continuity, with support continuing in the future as required.
  • Business Needs to Technical Solutions: Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications for SAP Analytics solutions.
  • Collaborative Solution Building: Collaborate with developers to build, customize, and test SAP Analytics solutions within the S/4HANA environment.
  • Datasphere Champion: Lead the advancement of SAP Datasphere within the organization by defining strategy, establishing governance, and facilitating collaboration.

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in SAP Analytics solutions design, development, and implementation, with in-depth understanding of both SAP ECC and S/4HANA.
  • Proven track record in leading successful SAP Analytics projects.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience.
  •  Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and both SAP and non-SAP data visualization tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, both written and verbal.
  • Experience managing complex global projects, processes, and systems.
  • Experience of modern cloud-based application delivery
  • Ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP Analytical Fiori apps, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP BW, or SAP BW/4HANA.
  • Understanding of HANA database concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Agile project management methodologies.
  • Business acumen and experience collaborating with business stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with SAP Datasphere and its applicability in data management and global SAP Analytics.
