We are looking to hire an IT Architect immediately in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Position Overview
This role develops infrastructure, network and security designs for the Product Line according to corporate standards. Collaborating with partners to design state of the art infrastructure to support MCK globally and assist with projects, aquisitions and expansions. This includes fit for purpose solutions, ensureing systems maintain data confidentiality, integrity and availability aligned with the sensitivity and criticality warranted.
This role is also required to participate in the creation and approval of new standards as part of an architechtural standards board and operate within the global architectural function.
This role specifically focuses on the development of Operational Technology systems and will work closely with the site engineering teams to focus on digital manufacturing systems globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Works on complex projects that require in-depth knowledge of a specialized capability within their architecture domain, providing architectural designs and guidance.
- Provides direction, guidance, and definition of IT architecture to effectively support the product and business strategy. Supports a specific architecture discipline and champions’ architectural initiatives according to the corporate standards
- Consults with project teams to fit projects to established architecture patterns, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the standard architectural patterns. Ensures the conceptual completeness of the technical solutions.
- Participates in the creation of governing principles and standards to guide architecture decision making. Identifies exceptions to architectural standards at an enterprise level and facilitates resolution. Reviews and/or analyzes and develops architectural and security requirements as needed for the organization.
- Performs research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts and recommend technologies that will improve cost effectiveness and systems flexibility. Develop, document, and communicate plans for investing in systems architecture, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Maintain continuous personal learning and development to remain technological relevancy in current and emerging
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 8+ Years of IT experience, with a significant amount of time spent in an engineering / architecture role.
- Operating in an Agile software development environment with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps etc.
Experience with the following technologies:
- Wonderware / Factorytalk
- Siemens / Rockwell
- Cisco Networking
- Windows Server + Desktop OS
- VMWare vSphere / Hyper-V design and management
- Thorough understanding of firewall policies and network security concepts (Segmentation, PAM, NAC, etc).
- Designing large scale fault-tolerant IT environments for manufacturing systems.
- Automation and controls network design
- Azure
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills needed to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Proven track record of designing highly complex global architecture designs.
- Experience of participating in complex global projects, processes, and systems.

Base Salary: $103,520 - $181,150
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
