IT Business Relationship Lead- R&D / AI

This position will be located at 24 Schilling Road, Hunt Valley, Maryland. This position will report to the Business Relationship Director, PLM, Quality, and Regulatory.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

With focus on Computational Creativity, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and the R&D business, this role will be responsible for formulating and defining complex information systems scope and objectives through research, analysis, testing and fact-finding combined with a comprehensive understanding of business systems and industry requirements. The IT Business Relationship Lead - R&D / AI serves as a proactive partner to the business and as part of a global team to enable business through technology in an integrated enterprise systems environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as liaison between business users and technology group for system implementation and maintenance.
  • Effectively communicates complex concepts and solutions to all levels of the organization and project team, including facilitation of decisions and consensus building.
  • Develops, executes, and tracks system testing processes to ensure operational readiness before solutions are deployed into production environment.  Coordinates user testing where required.
  • Influences the functional Long-Term plan with a technology acumen and may influence the IT business plan.
  • Acts as work stream leader from start to finish with accountability for successful project delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Fosters and maintains good relationships with customers and IT colleagues to meet expected customer service levels.
  • Responsible for solution design, proposals and end-to-end business process engineering and requirements mapping in the AI/R&D area.
  • Designs and develops IT solutions (integrated process, applications, data, and technology) to business problems in alignment with the organization IT direction and standards.
  • Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses; drives business process transformation with key business partners and other McCormick Technology solution teams.
  • Responsible for scope related decisions and draws conclusions related to design needs and decisions using Agile methodology.
  • Designs major aspects of the architecture of applications, including components such as user interface, middleware and infrastructure integration points.
  • Can work across solution teams to ensure proper system/data integration.
  • Champions and develops innovative IT principles and ideas.
  • Adheres to project timelines to complete tasks on time, budget and aligned with business user expectations.
  • Provides guidance and oversight to program standards and performance as it pertains to solution design concepts, deployment and steady-state in Research and Development areas including Artificial Intelligence/Computational Creativity, Sensory, Culinary, and Product Development.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field. May consider 10+ years of related experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with IT in commercial environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a work stream leader within area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in complex global projects environments.
  • Ability to adapt, learn and perform in fast paced environments. 
  • Knowledge of Data integration between systems.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Modeling, mathematical algorithms.
  • Knowledge of SAP RD including specifications, formulas, and recipes.
