McCormick & Company, Incorporated is seeking a full-time IT Intern Summer 2024 located at 24 Schilling Road, Hunt Valley, MD.  This is a 10-week internship (June 2024 - August 2024) which requires 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

As an IT Intern, you will play a vital role in assisting our Information Technology Service Management department in identifying ways to manage and maintain the configuration management database (CMDB) along with related processes. This internship in an exciting opportunity that will enable you to demonstrate the benefits, define, and communicate many use cases of how the CMDB provides value to our core and business services. We will provide you with hands-on experience in IT Service Management practices and you will be exposed to the core principles and practices of ITSM, while working alongside experienced professionals in the field.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • You will be empowered to assist in ensuring that all IT assets, components, and configurations are accurately documented, tracked, and controlled to support the organization’s operational needs. While administering configuration control processes to manage changes to CI attributes and relationships.
  • By monitoring and assessing changes in the environment, you’ll ensure organization's policies and standards are adhered to.
  • Create and maintain reports on the status and history of CI configurations to track changes, versions, and relationships between CIs.
  • You will collaborate with ITSM team leaders to create and update knowledge articles, documentation, and best practice guides. While identifying a succinct and organized approach of categorizing knowledge articles to improve searchability and accessibility for IT support staff. By analyzing feedback from IT support teams and end-users you will identify areas for knowledge base improvement and AI Chatbot performance.
  • Assist in creating and promoting the use of the knowledge base among IT staff through training sessions and communications. Generate dashboards on knowledge base usage, feedback, and the impact of knowledge management initiatives.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Current enrollment as an undergraduate Junior or Senior at a 4 year accredited college/university in a relevant academic program.  
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate complex issues and conduct root cause analysis to resolve problems
  • Must be able to prioritize and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written)
