Position Overview 

Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor and with other members of the staff, prepares samples, administers tests including setting up panels, recording detailed and accurate information about tests in a timely manner and follow SOP’s. Responsible for electronic file maintenance, document editing, and learning new software packages. Responsible for ordering supplies, laboratory cleanliness and organization. Responsible for recruiting panelists for sensory evaluations at various McCormick locations and conducting tests at McCormick locations (ex. TIC, HQ). Assist with panelists training programs and maintaining lists of panelists. Participate in continuing education programs. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Administers tests including setting up panels; preparing food samples; collaborating on electronic files and recording detailed and accurate information about tests; and final test breakdown cleaning. 
  • Ordering supplies, Maintaining general laboratory cleanliness and organization. 
  • Assist with panelists training programs and maintaining lists of panelists. 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • High School diploma required 
  • 12 College credits in the sciences or 2 years lab experience 
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, writing and attention to detail skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions and work with minimal supervision 
  • Proficient with MS Programs - Word, Excel, Outlook 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work under tight deadlines, changing priorities and maintain confidentiality of information 
  • Strong planning and task organization skills 
  • Basic laboratory skills, food preparation skills, and excellent housekeeping skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks 
  • Ability to perform moderate physical work over prolonged periods while standing and able to lift 50 pounds

Base Salary: $19.58/hr - $29.38/hr

 

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer.
