POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the general supervision of the Laboratory supervisor, the candidate is responsible for, setting up raw materials for sensory evaluation, basic inventory management, maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The candidate is also responsible for attending pilot and plant seasoning production trials. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sets up raw materials and finished goods for basic sensory evaluations
  • Maintains inventory of key raw material
    • Receives inventory and maintains records
    • Keeps track of shelf life
  • Keeps a clean and organized lab space
    • Fills raw material containers
  • Ability to follow GLPs and understands laboratory safety.
  • Attends pilot and plant production trials. 

Qualifications

  • General laboratory experience.
  • Ability to adjust work plan to a frequently changing list of priorities.
  • Has a baseline understanding of food sanitation and food safety.
  • Ability to perform moderate physical work over prolonged periods while standing.
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds continuously, 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Preferred: 2 years lab experience or 12 college science credits. 
  • Preferred: 2 or 4 year college degree

 

The pay range for this position is $19.58-$29.38.
