Role Overview
As a Lab Technician II, you’ll support PD teams in developing and testing dairy-based formulations, with a strong focus on spray drying performance, powder functionality, and sensory evaluation.
You will be contributing to both pilot-scale trials and lab-scale experiments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and compound dairy formulations for lab testing and pilot production
- Operate and support spray drying trials, including setup, dryer operation and samples collection
- Conduct sensory evaluations and submitting samples for analytical testing
- Maintain accurate lab records, batch sheets, and formulation logs
- Manage inventory of dairy ingredients, lab supplies, and retention samples
- Ensure lab cleanliness, safety, and compliance with food safety protocols
- Support sensory panels and communicate results
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–2 years of experience in food lab or production setting, preferably with dairy products
- Familiarity with spray drying equipment and powder handling
- Strong math and data recording skills, including working with formulas and decimals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Windows-based systems and basic data management
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology, or related field
- Experience with SAP, Devex, or similar systems
- Understanding of spray drying process and powder properties
- Prior work with dairy products
The pay range for this position is $21.07 - $31.61.
