LAB TECH III

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Lab Tech III will assist in the development of new products and line extensions as well as support our existing line of products through cost reduction and product improvement projects.  The successful candidate will provide support to the production plants with product or process issues.  Additionally, this position conducts product demos to Marketing which includes preparing food from recipes and evaluates competitive products.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Assist in developing wet and dry formulas, ingredient statements and in-process specifications, sourcing/approving raw materials and general lab maintenance.

·         Independently plans for and executes projects with limited supervision.

·         Conducts internal taste tests for product evaluation and demoing to Marketing.

·         Interacts with both McCormick R&D employees and outside (of McCormick R&D) sources to accomplish assigned projects.

·         Participates in selection of appropriate equipment/instrumentation and laboratory supplies.

·         Independent and unsupervised visits to production facilities to supervise trial batches and MAC trials.

·         Orders and replenishes lab raw material inventories

·         Obtains, records, and maintains raw material and formula data.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         3 years lab experience (it can be a combination work and college)　

·         High School Diploma and 24 college credits/CEUs in math/science 　

·         Advanced Lab skills

·         Ability to thoroughly investigate problems, identify potential solutions and making recommendations to supervisor.

·         Ability to prioritize work with minimum supervision and work well under pressure.

·         Analytical skills

·         Good oral and written communication and decision making skills

·         Advanced PC skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         Bachelor degree in a science field (Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, etc..) 

·         Experience in working in a New Product Development lab environment.

·         Experience in working with SAP and DevEx formula management system.

The pay range for this position is $20.94-$31.42.
