We are looking to hire a Maintenance Workleader – 3rd Shift immediately at our FMC Plant located at 11102 McCormick Road in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

This new hire will work in Hunt Valley Plant, located at 11102 McCormick Rd in Hunt Valley, MD. The Work leader will report to a Team Manager Maintenance Jeff Zaremski for our c shift which is night shift.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Team Manager, manages and directs all activities and processes related to the daily management of predictive, preventive and proactive maintenance programs to improve process reliability (PR) while reducing maintenance costs. The incumbent will maintain packaging, blending and fermentation equipment in multiple departments and is responsible for the complete maintenance and inspection on individual pieces of equipment. This position will also support the core reliability processes (Autonomous Maintenance, Early Equipment Management, Training and Focused Improvement.) Responsibilities include leading and developing direct reports while fostering a team environment, meeting or exceeding established goals (safety, sanitation , PR%, cost, waste, quality (Q% and 5S)), loss reduction, reliability improvement and other performance standards related to process and packaging systems. Supports and develops HPO teams to ensure that information flow / communication processes, personnel development, problem-solving, goal-setting and process improvement (e.g. A3, PDCA, Breakdown Analysis and 5Why) are all integral parts of daily core work. This includes leading daily cross shift communications of relevant shift activities (adjustments, parts/settings changes, downtime, planned/unplanned work) This position will be responsible for ensuring all safety incident reporting follows proper protocols; will ensure monthly, quarterly, yearly required training are completed for direct reports; will ensure required work orders are reviewed and completed daily and will develop actions from completed work orders. This role will also coordinate maintenance activities and people resources to meet operational objectives, monitors activities and results, makes assignments and leads the escalation process and decision making to drive closure to plant losses. Must be able to audit work orders and hold team accountable.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Acceptable attendance required. Meets standards in overall performance rating in most recent performance review. High school diploma or equivalent. Five years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate and solve problems, ability to diagnose mechanical problems and resolve minor mechanical and processing problems. Must have good PLC skills and electronics. Flow meters, VFDs, DP sensors. PID loops
- Knowledge of CMMS, MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), SAP or other ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) tool Demonstrated ability to perform changeovers and preventative maintenance on all production equipment.
- Demonstrated practice of leadership principles required and formal leadership training.
- Demonstrated ability to pro-actively encourage continuous improvement and daily problem-solving initiatives Proven ability to coach, train and influence while demonstrating a deep respect for the capabilities of all people.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking skills to determine risk assessment
- Experience effectively leading and facilitating team and cross-functional meeting. Ability to work overtime/weekends required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PLC, Siemens-Allen Bradley VFDs strong electronics.
Leadership skills and professionalism
Must be able to make decisions under pressure
Must be flexible shift wise for training
Strong mechanical skills, pumps valves tanks burner control
Must be able to wear a PAPR

Base Salary: $36.25 - $54.38
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Dividend Program.
