McCormick & Company, Incorporated, a global leader in flavor, is seeking a full time Manufacturing Controls Engineer in its US Consumer Products Division (CPD) Hunt Valley (HV) Plant located at 11100 McCormick Rd in Hunt Valley, MD. The Manufacturing Controls Engineer will report to the HV Plant Engineering Technical Leader for Controls.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the general direction of the Engineering Technical Leader, this position will support critical business data collection by maintaining and improving IT/OT systems in a production environment. This includes troubleshooting equipment control systems, shop floor applications and servers, and local plant networks. This position will also support operations by documenting and training plant personnel in the use of OT software. participation in plant initiatives.

 

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Develop and execute improvements to shop floor systems
  • Troubleshooting of PLC, shop floor, and networked systems
  • Preventative maintenance and upgrades on IT/OT systems
  • Provide input to other departments developing machine and work standards
  • Create and maintain technical documentation of supported systems
  • Lead or provide support for focused improvement projects
  • Provide training to operations and other support functions
  • Provide support for new equipment installations

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A.S. Degree in Electrical Technology/Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or hands-on experience with industrial data collection systems
  • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to diagnose and repair hardware issues including touch screen displays, network interface cards, and human interface devices
  • Ability to load and configure hardware and software related to industrial control systems
  • Ability to lead and work in project teams to deliver business objectives
  • Demonstrated experience in a continuous improvement system
  • Self-motivated and able to informally lead small project teams
  • Can relate to all plant personnel using appropriate tact and communication styles
  • Able to influence decisions within the plant
  • Interacts regularly with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams within the plant and IT teams external to the plant
  • Ability to create technical documentation targeted to audiences of all skill levels
  • Ability to understand and modify technical drawings using CAD software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading small project teams

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or Information Systems
  • 5 years of demonstrated IT/OT experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Cybersecurity certification
  • Experience in food and beverage, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing
