We are looking to hire a Material Planner II immediately at our Hunt Valley Manufacturing Plant in Hunt Valley, MD.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the direction of the Materials Planning Manager, this position will manage material supply and stocks to meet customer service and inventory targets within agreed cost constraints.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepare plans and call-off materials from approved suppliers and other McCormick facilities, utilizing SAP MRP functionality, to meet the needs of the production plan. Highlight potential impacts to the production schedules due to material shorts / non-conformance, providing action based solutions to maintain effective production plans.
  2. Manage overall inventory for a specific SKU portfolio, within agreed targets, whilst optimizing customer service and inventory targets within cost constraints, producing management reports as required.
  3. Monitor and measure supplier performance including ‘Perfect Purchase Line Fulfillment’ deliveries from suppliers, to continuously improve material availability. Drive actions in accordance with Vendor Assurance and Procurement, where necessary to address non-conformance to targets.
  4. Arrange the return to vendor of agreed non-conforming goods, following up appropriate documentation, to enable purchasing to track corrective action. 
  5. Resolve discrepancies between ordered and delivered quantities and values and confirm payment approval with accounts payable.
  6. Coordinate the process and maintain accurate records of documentation needed to facilitate the seamless importing of raw materials, ensuring delivery on process audit targets.
  7. Attend business reviews and participate in project team activity as required, to meet the needs of the business.
  8. Ensure accurate and timely update for all relevant SLOB materials, capturing corrective actions to mitigate potential future issues, working with all relevant departments to minimize write off costs.
  9. Manage the plant receiving schedule.
  10. Utilize Supply Managed Inventory tool (E2Open) to enable supplier collaboration efforts.
  11. Audit master data and maintain MRP settings to enable most efficient lead times and inventory levels, while ensuring service.
  12. Comply with all the rules concerning Health and Safety, to ensure that all equipment is operated safely and to report any accident, injury or unsafe practice in accordance with procedures.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years work experience in a planning or purchasing role, specifically within materials/inventory management
  3. Demonstrated computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point, and Access
  4. Past exposure to planning using Material Requirements Planning and other systems
  5. Assertive and tenacious, results focused
  6. Ability to remain calm under pressure and think outside of the box
  7. Customer focused and committed to building effective internal and external working relationships
  8. Innovative, flexible and adaptable
  9. Good organizational and planning skills
  10. Good Interpersonal skills
  11. Ability to work well as part of a cross functional team
  12. Competent written and oral communication skills, including ability to give effective presentations

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. APICS certification
  2. Prior experience working with SAP
