NA Vice President of Marketing, Spices & Extracts


McCormick & Company, Inc., a global leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking a full-time NA Vice President of Marketing, Spices & Extracts. This new hire will work at McCormick's global headquarters, located in Hunt Valley, MD. The NA Vice President of Marketing, Spices & Extracts will report to the Group VP of Marketing - North America.

The NA Vice President of Marketing, Spices & Extracts leads the overarching vision, strategies and plans for the growth of the ~$1.4B Spices & Extracts business. This includes P&L management and in-market results across Spices, Blends, and Extracts categories and NA brand ownership across McCormick, McCormick Gourmet, McCormick Grill Mates, Lawry’s, Gourmet Garden and OLD BAY in collaboration with the Global and Marketing Excellence Teams. 



  • Business and P&L Management:  Responsible for delivery of NS and OP.  Sets and delivers the financial forecast.  Manages P&L choices impacting Cost of Selling, Cost of Goods Sold, Marketing Investments, and SG&A Budgets.  Additionally, responsible for delivering in-market goals such as sales, share and HHP.
  • Cross Functional Team Leadership:  Responsible for leading a cross functional teams and approving or elevating cross functional team projects and recommendations.  Collaborates closely with commercial functions to enable the commercial agenda.
  • Strategic Planning:  Responsible for consumer and business strategies for long term, transformational growth in line with company strategies.  Manages and approves annual strategies.
  • Marketing Planning:  Responsible for team delivery of marketing plans.  Approves briefs for integrated communications, creative, global branding/design, market research and R&D and approves final delivery from respective cross functional partner (internal Marketing Excellence Team, external agency).
  • Innovation Development:  Responsible for delivering corporate innovation NS targets. Owns the innovation pipeline.  Manages consumer-led concept and product qualification and development.
  • Team Leadership & Talent Management:  Responsible for setting OGSMs for team and aligning to work plans to deliver against these.  Owns team structure.  Manages performance, potential and compensation planning of team and individual talent. 
  • Other:  Serves on NA Executive Leadership Team participating in overall divisional planning and choices, Leads/participates in acquisition/divestiture planning and management as needed. 



  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 10+ years demonstrated success business management and/or marketing.
  • 8+ years proven team leadership and employee management and development skills.
  • Inspirational leader of direct and cross functional team with collaborative approach.
  • Ability to set a bold vision for growth and stablish strategies and plans to achieve goals.
  • Strong written and verbal communications.
  • History of high performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think and act innovatively.
  • Demonstrates a bias toward action.
  • Ability to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations.



  • MBA
  • CPG industry experience
