We are looking to hire an Payroll Analyst immediately in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

The primary role of the Payroll Analyst II includes processing requests for changes in employee pay within the prescribed timelines for the payroll. Prepare the weekly payroll for 5,000+ employees and remit the related state taxes and third-party payments. This position will provide information to the Business for month end journals and internal reporting purposes. This position should understand the payroll processes and the internal payroll system to drive process improvements. Additionally, this position should understand the end-to-end administrative processes related to Payroll, Compensation and Benefits and HR.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and/or update the various changes for the employee pay affecting payroll on a weekly basis according to company policy and proper approval level
- Assist with preparing the weekly payroll for approx. 5,000 employees using reports and validating employee results
- Prepare and submit state taxes for multi-state payroll and reconciling third party payments such as child support and garnishments
- Provide information to the Business for month end journals and internal reporting
- Investigate and research payroll issues and then recommend resolution
- Participate and/or monitor changes to regulatory changes for payroll
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 5+ years processing payroll in a multi-state and multi-functional payroll environment
- Ability to exercise good judgment in high pressure, sensitive situations
- Ability to meet aggressive deadlines
- Excellent customer service skills
- 5+ years’ experience with SAP processes, upgrades and testing
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience in payroll system implementation
- 3+ years’ experience in federal, state tax compliance and filing
- Experience modifying and developing processes for better efficiencies in an in-house payroll processing environment
- Effective communication (both oral and written) skills with demonstrated ability to present and sell ideas to others
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- CPP Preferred
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel and basic proficiency of PowerPoint and MS Word
