PROCUREMENT SENIOR MANAGER I- Indirect

This new hire will work in the Global Headquarters, located at 24-1 Schilling Road in Hunt Valley, MD. The Sr. Procurement Manager will report to a Regional Procurement Director.

Position Overview:

Responsible for assigned categories and the development of strategies and programs to optimize cost, rationalize the supply base and bring value to the Corporation while mitigating risk.  May manage subordinates.  Includes strategy execution activity supporting Direct and/or In direct spend.  Participation in the development of OGSM and Procurement planning activities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Management of Procurement for assigned Indirect Procurement categories for Goods and Services – including but not limited to temporary labor, facilities management, 3PL warehouses, energy, marketing services
  • Lead negotiations of procured materials and services to assure optimal TCO (Cost, Quality, Delivery, Innovation) achieved
  • Negotiate contracts – work with stakeholders and Legal to finalize agreements that support the business
  • Initiate and analyze RFI/RFPs
  • Develops and implements strategies to assure lowest overall cost while mitigating risk to the Corporation
  • Promotes high level of customer satisfaction in supporting the needs of Divisional projects & requirements for Purchasing guidance & leadership
  • Participates in the planning and forecasting process to establish standard costs and provide explanations for price variances at Division level
  • Participates and may lead change management efforts while creating true alignment & integration internally and externally
  • Acts as an internal consultant
  • Drive efficiencies and manage the following areas within the responsible categories:
    • Supplier management
    • On-time/In-Full Delivery (OTIF)
    • Quality Notifications
    • Vendor/Item Creation
    • Contracts
    • MOQ/Lead Time

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree is Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting or related field
  •  8+ years in Purchasing/Supply Chain environment with appropriate business experience           
  •  5+ years project management, execution of or participation in large, multiple or cross-functional projects.
  • Proven experience and success in leading major cost savings initiatives and cross functional teams..
  • Excellent analytical skills and evaluative judgement in complicated or novel situations
  • Strong communication, negotiation and diplomacy skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in Indirect Procurement categories
  • Demonstrates effectiveness in leading Indirect categories, including but not limited to temporary labor, facilities management, 3PL warehouses, energy, marketing services
  • MBA
  • CPM or APICS certification
