McCormick & Company, Inc., a global leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking a full-time Product Manager II supporting the Marketing Excellence team for Branded Flavor Solutions Herbs, Spices and Seasonings. This new hire will work in our Global Headquarters located at 24 Schilling Road  in Hunt Valley, MD. The Product Manager II  will report to a Marketing Director.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Product Manager II will be responsible for the development and execution of strategic marketing plans and activities for the Branded Flavor Solutions Herbs, Spices and Seasonings portfolio to achieve sales and profit goals. This position includes responsibility for volume, profitability, assortment, creative, advertising, promotion, packaging, new products and pricing. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage P&L and budget for branded herbs, spices and seasonings portfolio.
  • Provide analysis of and recommendations relating to product offerings and business results.
  • Prepare and deliver ongoing business updates and reports to senior marketing and business management.
  • Develop, execute and measure plans that address key issues and business opportunities.  Course correct as needed.  Partner with sales and key customers in plan development and execution.
  • Develop comprehensive annual brand plans and present to divisional leadership.
  • Independently lead cross-functional teams and agencies.
  • Provide direction and collaborate with key cross-functional partners such as research, sales, product development, manufacturing, quality, finance, legal, creative, digital, media, innovation teams.
  • Play a key strategic and tactical role in new product and line extension development, promotions, advertising and public relations, product quality improvements, testing, sku rationalization and cost reductions.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated relevant skills & results in consumer packaged goods marketing, forecasting, advertising, market research, consumer & trade promotion, P&L management and business planning required. At least 4 years preferred.
  • Strong analytical and project leadership experience with ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience building brand required.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication (written, verbal, presentation), and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated ability of being a dynamic self-starter, to work independently and apply sound judgment to solve complex problems with incomplete and/or ambiguous information.
  • Experience in syndicated databases, market research, business and brand planning, finance, promotional activities and communications.
  • Understanding of concepts, principles and practices in Marketing and a sound understanding in other areas including Sales, Finance and Supply Chain.
  • Exercises discretion regarding strategic recommendations, data and sources, analytic conclusions, and financial recommendations.
  • Developed communication & diplomacy skills required to guide, influence & convince others.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including PowerPoint and Excel.

 

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA
  • Food industry experience
  • Branded Foodservice experience
