McCormick & Company, Inc., a global leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking a full-time Product Manager II on the Marketing Team, focusing on Rice & Grains, Seafood and Bars. This new hire will work in Hunt Valley, MD. The Product Manager II will report to the Marketing Sr Manager.

The Product Manager II will assist in building brand equity and meeting business objectives for the Rice & Grains, Seafood and Bars categories by being responsible for coordinating and executing strategic and tactical product innovation and brand/product refresh activities to deliver against a 5yr pipeline.  Design and execute product initiatives, lead cross-functional teams to commercialize new products, contribute to consumer & shopper target (WHO) and need state development.  Manage and develop direct reports, if applicable. Reports to Senior Marketing Manager, Convenient Meals Design.


  • Identify and prioritize growth initiatives and white space territories based on consumer and category analysis.
  • Identify needs for initiative WHO targets. Use insights to develop breakthrough ideas that deliver the defined initiative business objective and delight our target consumer.
  • Support the creation and execution of a 5yr product pipeline, ensuring pipeline initiatives support equity choices for the brand/category. 
  • Develop consumer and shopper-based concepts and platforms that capture a promise, resolving an unmet need or creates desire for an unrecognized need.
  • Work closely with Marketing Insights team to manage initiative learning plans to ensure connectivity to consumer needs.
  • Lead new product business case development, financial forecasting, supply chain, pricing, P&L structure and recommended in-market execution.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to commercialize new products and enhancements to existing products.
  • Lead projects that meet initiative targets for sales and margin. Identify multi-year cost saving opportunities to enhance new item margin over time.
  • Develop and manage interns and mentor others.
  • Exercise discretion regarding strategic recommendations, data and sources, analytic conclusions, and financial recommendations.


  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing, or related field required
  • Minimum 5 years of marketing and/or sales experience
  • Demonstrated significant and relevant skills and results in consumer packaged goods
  • Strong project leadership experience with demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and P&L’s
  • Expertise in syndicated databases, market research, business and brand planning, advertising, finance, promotional activities and consumer communications
  • Sound understanding of concepts, principles and practices in Marketing (functional expert) and a working knowledge of practices in other areas including Sales, Finance and Supply Chain
  • Deep understanding of the industry sector and competitive landscape across multiple segments
  • In-depth understanding of how own area integrates with other Marketing areas and with other functional areas such as Sales, Finance and Supply Chain
  • Good analytical skills as well as evaluative judgment based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situations
  • Filters, prioritizes, analyzes and validates potential complex and dynamic material
  • Developed communication and diplomacy skills required to guide, influence, and convince others (internal and external)
  • Strong cross-functional strategic leadership, communication and teamwork skills
