We are looking to hire a Procurement Director, Specialty Flavors to join our team! This role will be based at McCormick's Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland and will be eligible to participate in our hybrid work program (50% onsite, 50% remote per month).

POSITION  OVERVIEW:

Provides expertise and management supervision in assuring the supply, value and risk mitigation of globally procured materials, for a designated group of categories including garlic and pepper mash, which significantly impact all business units' growth and profitability. Accountable for ensuring alignment of category procurement strategies with regional business unit strategies as well as Global Councils. Significant time traveling and developing origins, suppliers, and supply chains. Provides input to the strategic direction of the Function. Regular communication with Senior Leadership, including monthly updates to members of the management committee. Participates in regular customer-facing interactions in an effort to provide commodity education, retain, and/or gain business.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development and implementation of category sourcing strategies in support of business growth aspirations. Assure the lowest overall cost while mitigating risk to the Corporation. Exploration and development of new global origins and global suppliers to support business growth and mitigate risk
  • Alignment of category strategies with business strategies from all four regions and respective local units. Alignment is achieved through interaction and influencing Regional Procurement, Commercial teams, TASC, Global Councils, and Senior regional and local leadership. Provide monthly updates to management committee-level individuals at the Iconic Raw Material Meetings and TASC Sr. Leader steering teams.
  • Promotes a high level of customer satisfaction in supporting the needs of Divisional projects & requirements for Purchasing guidance & leadership, including but not limited to forecasting, budgeting, market information, and customer intimacy activities
  • Leads global process standardization and change management efforts while creating true alignment & integration internally and externally. Acts as an internal consultant.
  • Manages large global supplier relationships that cross several procurement categories

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting or applicable field of study
  • 9+ years in Purchasing/Supply Chain environment with appropriate business experience
  • 5+ years leading cross-functional initiatives
  • 4+ years managing, leading developing dynamic work teams
  • Strong communication and diplomacy skills
  • Deep knowledge of commodity markets, specialist in technical/subject area. 
  • Basic understanding of material functionality, material flow and handling to optimize supply chain effectiveness. 
  • Good understanding of how own expertise integrates with the function and basic commercial awareness. 
  • Understands how innovation from within categories contribute to growth initiatives. 
  • Experience with developing global suppliers and new origins. 
  • Experience working at the agricultural field level.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA
  • CPM and/or APICS certification
