  • Global HQ in Hunt Valley, MD
  • McCormick (UK) in Haddenham
  • or McCormick (France)

POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsible for the assigned resin category and the development of strategies and programs to optimize cost, streamline the supply base, and add value to McCormick while minimizing risk. Coordinates and leads strategy execution activities for Direct spend in collaboration with the Global Procurement Manager for Rigid Plastics. Responsible for the strategic transformation of the assigned resin category for McCormick’s Global team, developing end-to-end business relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the newly formed Procurement Supply Excellence partners to ensure maximum coordination and a strategic approach to the category. Accountable for creating and implementing a best-in-class supplier relationship management program that delivers supply assurance, cost-effectiveness, innovation speed, financial forecast accuracy, and sustainability targets, creating a sustained competitive advantage for the business.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•           Management of procurement strategy for their categories globally. Leads the negotiations of procured materials and services to assure optimal TCO (Cost, Quality, Delivery, Innovation) achieved. Develops and implements strategies to assure lowest overall cost while mitigating risk to McCormick. Develops and documents in-depth knowledge of markets, supply chain, and suppliers. Assists with make vs. buy decisions. Conduct formal presentations as well as coordinate & conduct supplier reviews, inclusive of McCormick plants and corporate teams.

•           Owns quarterly financial forecasting process for assigned category to establish standard costs and provide explanations for price variances, providing the business clear visibility of the impact to P&L and balance sheet.

•           Subject matter expert in assigned category.  Responsible for providing resin market view and all cost elements impacting the entirety of Rigid Plastics categories globally.

•           Develop a supplier base with appropriate relationships to meet McCormick’s current and future procurement needs.  Responsible for initiating and maintaining Non-Disclosure Agreements and Master Supply Agreements to support business. Monitor and coordinate timely pricing actions with suppliers and internal systems.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting or applicable field of study
  • 7+ years in Purchasing/Supply Chain environment with appropriate business experience.
  • 4+ yrs project management, execution of or participation in large, multiple or cross-functional projects.
  • Project management/process improvement.
  • 3+ yrs managing, leading developing dynamic work teams.
  • Proven experience and results on major cost savings initiatives.
  • Supervisory experience
  • Thorough knowledge of industries for assigned categories.
  • Technical awareness in assigned categories.
  • McCormick product and business knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Company priorities and strategic direction.
  • Systems capabilities to maximize supplier performance and negotiating leverage.
  • Ability to assess and analyze moderately complex business opportunities.
  • Ability to deal with diverse and sometimes conflicting priorities.
  • Sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA, or other equivalent Master's degree
  • CPM or APICS certification
  • 5+ years of direct packaging purchasing experience
  • 5+ years of rigid plastics purchasing experience
