POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Procurement Manager, External Manufacturing – Innovation & Growth is responsible for managing the entire innovation & growth initiatives at External Manufacturers (EMs), and innovation deployment for the MKC External Manufacturing network in North America. The individual in this position will be a Strategy and Portfolio Management Expert adept in complexities related to External Manufacturing to drive both financial and performance results. They will manage key internal stakeholders including Marketing, Operations, Finance, Quality, R&D and Cat Management/Ops Procurement teams. This role will be responsible for developing and executing the innovation strategy at EMs and developing an eco-system of small to medium sized co-manufacturers to support our agile innovation ambition.

 

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

•             Lead & execute the external innovation strategy development and deployment for MKC in North America.

•             Manage the Innovation to Win (I2W) pipeline for external manufacturers and external business partners including project vetting, resourcing, and business prioritization.

•             Execute the External Innovation Deployment process for new product innovations, taking product concepts and ideas from feasibility to launch.

•             Develop and lead the EM Supplier Enabled Innovation (SEI) model including training, facilitating, and monitoring supplier-led innovation.

•             Conduct landscape analysis to identify and evaluate existing and potential suppliers that have the required capabilities to complete our innovation projects.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting or applicable field of study
  • 7+ years in Purchasing/Supply Chain environment with appropriate business experience.
  • 4+ years project management, execution of or participation in large, multiple or cross-functional projects.
  • Project management/process improvement.
  • 3+ years managing, leading developing dynamic work teams.
  • Proven experience and results on major cost savings initiatives.
  • Technical awareness in assigned categories.
  • McCormick product and business knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Company priorities and strategic direction.
  • Systems capabilities to maximize supplier performance and negotiating leverage.
  • Ability to assess and analyze moderately complex business opportunities.
  • Ability to deal with diverse and sometimes conflicting priorities.
  • Sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills
  • Executive stakeholder management experience
  • Effective at establishing trust and building effective business relationships and getting things done through others
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities
  • Demonstrated communication and organizational skills, self-starter, able to work both independently and in partnership with others.
  • Mastery in MS Office (Excel, Access, Project, PowerPoint, Word)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA, or other equivalent Master's degree
  • CPM or APICS certification
  • SAP experience
