R&D PD Process & Systems Optimization Analyst

This new hire will work at the Technical Innovation Center, located in Hunt Valley, MD. The R&D PD Process & Systems Optimization Analyst will report to a Business & Systems Process Manager II.

Position Overview:

Grade 58/59:  Responsible for supporting PD processes, system and projects related to R&D activities and systems. This includes understanding PD requirements, testing, training and post project support. In all activities and support, consider data security and intellectual property protocols. Supports PD as a SME in cross functional projects related to business processes, systems, or other PD tools. Provides training and user support for new PD employees.  Supports the user community with the use of DevEX, BatchMetric, Kardex, SAGE, BenchTesting, Product Vision and other systems as needed.

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • First level of contact for PD systems, processes, and procedures.
  • R&D Business representative for DevEX or other PD systems and tools as it relates to data security and functionality.
  • Responsible for understanding PD requirements and needs, prototype testing, training, and post project support as it relates to current systems and processes.  
  • Creates practical solutions related to PD processes and systems including interactions with McCormick IT.               
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities related to PD activities, systems, or other PD tools that provide realistic and tangible benefits.  
  • Establish PD partnership and maintain connectivity to PD activities relevant to processes and systems. Educate and work with IT teams to resolve complex PD systems issues.   
  • Trains power users and new employees on PD systems, processes, and related best practices.     

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor in Food Science, Computer Science, Information Technology or related
  • 5 Years Food PD experience - would consider Project Management experience related to PD processes and activities 2 Years of SAP and formulation software experience.
  • Basic understanding of the USIG business or industry experience in understanding basic business activities in an R&D environment or similar.
  • Full understanding of general PD processes and procedures. Understand best practices for managing confidential and sensitive information as it relates to formula and related data.
  • Professional, organizational, written and oral communication, objectivity - 85% of the time will involve internal communication across and down the organization. 15% External such as software vendors and McIT contract managers.
  • Demonstrated SAP experience
  • Demonstrated product formulating software experience
  • Demonstrated Project Management Skills
