The Sr Manager will lead the PLO Team responsible for the delivery and support of all technology related to the Global Digital IT Product Line. In this role, you will be responsible for vision and priorities of improvements to these products, platforms and all associated feature/function/capabilities delivered in support of the digital business function. You will closely collaborate with key partners across all levels of the McCormick Organization in the planning, implementation, deployment of programs and projects, handling critical issues and ensuring successful delivery and health of the platforms. The global digital product line is the face to McCormick’s customers and consumers.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for global IT technical strategy development and operational/delivery platform roadmap for the assigned Product Line Teams.
  • Responsible for planning, execution/implementation and operational aspects of all areas supporting a wide variety of initiatives across the group's business.
  • Provide oversight and direction for multiple programs/projects.
  • Manage relationships with Senior Leaders Globally across McCormick and interact with cross-sector IT leaders in shaping global digital capabilities around the world.
  • Provide subject matter expertise working directly with business partners, contractors, and across McCormick Organizational Functions.
  • Set a clear vision for the product and is responsible for multi-generation product strategy
  • Improve return on investment by identifying and prioritizing the product features by business value.
  • Partner with the Business Relationship Leaders, Enterprise Architecture and Business Partners.
  • Identify new strategies to support the evolving landscape of Global Product Lines and supports the execution and delivery of existing strategies.
  • Participate in planning activities by identifying future business demand and ensuring appropriate funding is in the business plan.
  • Drive business process improvement initiatives and champion the change management efforts of IT initiatives within the business partner community
  • Understand and define business drivers and requirements of the initiated program(s)/project(s).
  • Ensure design gap analysis and prototyping, test script authoring and execution, and deployment activities as needed.
  • Track progress of all project workstreams in the context of the larger program
  • Prepare and deliver regular updates and communications (verbal and written) to the Business and IT Leadership teams, and extended business partners.
  • Focus on people and talent development, resource management, and the creation of a high performing team in partnership with direct reports.
  • Function as a team leader for the team acting as technical PLO owner of existing technologies and applications that support this function and ensure business partners are aware of new technologies.
  • Function as a change agent for partnership, collaboration, and innovation.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is required
  • Minimum of 10 years of IT experience is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience is required.
  • Experience in agile / agile scrum methodology and with agile delivery tools such as Jira is required.
  • Experience managing matrix-based project teams including internal resources and contractors is required.
  • Advanced understanding of Digital Strategies and industry trends
  • Propose/selects solutions and methodologies for projects, following compliance and company guidelines.
  • Leads the assessment of the technical and economic feasibility of proposed solutions and provides appropriate recommendations based on industry trends, internal benchmarking, and vendor relationships.
  • Balances between IT standards and strategies and business need to guide well-informed decisions.
  • Applies compliance requirements within scope of responsibility, provides documentation as necessary, and participates in compliance activities as required.
  • Ability to assess multi-dimensional problems and using a data driven/fact-based approach, translate the data-driven insights into recommendations, develop action plans and execute/delivery on recommendations is required.
  • Proven track record delivering in a highly complex, global ecosystem with the ability to deconstruct abstract problem sets – often involving multiple dimensions (people, process, and technology) is required.
  • Experience managing complex global projects, processes and systems is required. Experience with modern cloud-based application delivery is required.
  • Hands-on disciplined project management skills are required.
  • Business case/value case management experience is required.
  • Previous experience in leading a team and managing work in accordance with full system lifecycle (SDLC) from concept to production deployment is required.
  • Hands-on experience supporting an application portfolio (post-launch) is required.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision, both written and verbal.

Up to 25% travel, both domestic and international.
