Position Overview:

This critical role will help to lead McCormick’s Global Information Technology Software Asset Management practice. The Software Asset Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day core activities of the SAM function, including identifying optimization, compliance, and cost reduction opportunities; creating and executing action plans to achieve stated objectives or resolve discrepancies. You will help to support, and or initiate process improvements to develop best practices in software and license management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in developing and enhancing methodologies, policies and practices for implementing standard software asset life cycle management in line with best practice and practical experience as part of a cycle of continuous improvement and compliance.

  • Develop quality assurance practices and practices for the administration of software license contracts, maintenance and entitlements
  • Ensure that software acquisition, management, and disposal processes, including those of external service providers, are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, environmental and technical policies, applicable standards, legislation and contractual obligations
  • Execute software asset life cycle management status reporting, metrics, and benchmarks

Support the staff and processes necessary to identify current and emerging software asset life cycle costs and risks to the organization. The software asset manager will:

  • Coordinate assigned SAM activity across the organization to enable practices that reduce software life cycle costs and risk of all software assets used by the enterprise
  • Ensure that all software asset life cycle-related cost and risk is correctly identified, gather metrics and publish status reports, as well as oversee & direct mitigation and remediation activity
  • Advise of, and assign responsibilities for tasks such as compliance investigation and review of license terms and conditions as appropriate to achieve objectives
  • Champion the organization's long-term commitment to the SAM function

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT or Business Administration or minimum 8 years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Proven experience in leading global enterprise Software Asset Management, effectively working with large publisher licensing such as SAP, IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, SFDC and Adobe, for example.
  • Managing large global software estate
  • Implementation of a Global SAM Practice
  • SW Renewal process management
  • Software Contract Management experience
  • Experience managing projects and resources / people
  • Ability to interact with various departments such as Legal, Compliance, Audit and internal stakeholders in Information Technology and the business
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to maintain calm in high pressure situations
  • Excel, Powerpoint & Presentation skills
  • Service Now SAM, SAM-Pro experience
  • SW Audit response
  • Process Improvement/ E2E Process Mapping
  • On/off boarding process improvement initiative
