We are looking to hire a Senior Culinary Development Manager  immediately in a Hybrid  capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position reports directly to the US Executive Chef – Senior Culinary Manager, US Consumer, and will lead and contribute to the activities of the McCormick Kitchens needed to drive product acceptance with our Consumer Products Division customers. This position will act as the main liaison between the Kitchens, Trade Marketing and Sales, and deliver product, recipe and presentation content in support of the McCormick family of brands, Club and Ecomm. This role will work closely with the McCormick Kitchens Culinary Developers and will plan, evaluate and execute cross-functional customer calls, events and plans that incorporate the principles and best practices of content development and recipe marketing that drive business results. Responsible for delivering and influencing business-building food ideas and recipes to exceed consumers’ expectations. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages, prepares and executes content and logistics for customer calls and events; 60% minimum travel.
    • Supports Culinary customer engagement efforts through preparation of products and presentations for demonstration to retailers to aid in the sell-in process of new products, competitive cuttings or trend demonstrations.
    • Lead customer call logistics in full collaboration with Culinary development Managers
    • Main liaison between Kitchens, Trade Marketing and McCormick Sales team
    • Manages event calendar, coordinates across Culinary and other cross-functional teams
    • Main POC for Trade shows / customer events – lead/manage/participate
  • Contributes to product development process
    • Included in meetings last-mile, to understand products being launched and recipes that support the product launches
    • Plan and advise on ways to execute recipes on the road
    • Advise / write best practices or cheat sheets on new innovation / current products
  • Contributes to recipe development work for overarching projects
    • Flavor Forecast, First In Flavor, culinary immersions and more
    • Able to contribute to general recipe creation using MKC writing style / feel
  • Demonstrates knowledge of on-trend flavors
  • Execute and develop consumer focused recipes using McCormick products.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS – Culinary / Culinary Nutrition / Culinary Science / Consumer Science or other discipline (such as marketing/business) with significant culinary hands-on experience
  • 8 years’ experience in culinary field with significant recipe and product development experience and a concentration in CPG consumer test kitchens.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for business – 60% minimum
  • Experience working with brand management, innovation, sales and digital teams for product and content creation and participation in the sell-in process
  • Applies advanced knowledge in culinary development to the planning and completion of projects.
  • Is recognized for initiative and creativity and has proven record of contributions to McCormick and/or the industry. Experience with culinary demonstration, preparation, and presentation.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal as well as oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills and proficiency speaking in front of groups including senior leaders.
  • Ability to work well and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to lead and influence and obtain results for the business.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills on complex projects when dealing with limited or ambiguous details or information.
  • Proven presentation skills to large audiences (preferred)
