We are looking to hire a Marketing Manager immediately in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Marketing Manager, Recipe Mix will help shape the long-term category vision and key strategic initiatives for the Recipe Mix Category, for brands including McCormick, Cholula and Lawry’s.  Scope includes category strategy development, insights and positioning, brand experience choices and communications recommendations.  The successful candidate will collaborate cross-functionally to identify, develop and ready commercialization of capability-building and category growth opportunities aligned with operating plans.  Manage and develop up to 2 direct reports.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

DISCOVERY: Identification of category & brand opportunities that expand our portfolio

  • Diversify portfolio through thoughtful consumer insights, thorough competitive and market analyses and deep understanding of emerging trends
  • Identify needs for initiative WHO targets. Use insights to develop breakthrough ideas that deliver the defined initiative business objective and delight our target consumer.
  • Partner with Consumer and Market Insights to ensure connectivity to consumer needs.
  • Develop, write, test and optimize consumer and shopper-based concepts that capture a promise, resolving an unmet need.  Ascertain & size business opportunities.            
  • Lead and influence evolution of 5 year product pipeline and funnel within company’s strategic priorities that support equity choices for the brand/category
  • Mine secondary landscape & consumer category segmentation to identify insights

 

DEFINE PROPOSITION: Identify assumptions and needs to build profitable propositions

  • Develop business platforms to enable delivery of annual budget and strategic plan
  • Lead multi-faceted iterative workstreams to validate, assess and prepare projects for commercialization in partnership with cross-functional partners
  • Lead new product business case development, financial forecasting, supply chain, pricing, P&L structure and recommended in-market execution.
  • Generate breakthrough ideas that inspire to enable technical advantages while exceeding our consumers’ wants & needs

 

CREATE GROWTH: Bring platforms forward into commercialization

  • Build, shape & deliver new propositions, partnering with respective functional experts:
    • R&D: Develop product and package structure
    • Sales: Support customer trade plan and sell-in strategy development
    • Manufacturing: Enable supply chain to deliver outstanding customer service
    • Global Marketing: Create packaging graphics that build and enhance brand equity 
    • Finance: Identify assumptions to bring margin accretive opportunities forward 
  • Utilize commercialization process to ready projects for commercialization and launch.
  • Develop and recommend launch and on-going Consumer and Trade support plans

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or related discipline required,
  • Minimum of 5 years required of demonstrated relevant skills & results in consumer-packaged goods marketing, brand planning, building and running brand business, advertising, finance, promotional activities and consumer communications.
  • Demonstrated success creating and launching new products/categories required
  • Management and development of direct reports required
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication and teamwork skills required
  • Strong analytical and leadership experience with ability to manage multiple projects required
  • Expertise in syndicated databases, market research, business & brand planning, advertising, finance, promotional activities and consumer communications required
  • Experience leading cross-function teams preferred
  • Passion for food/culinary knowledge, including experience building brands within the food industry preferred

Base Salary: $118,900 - $214,030

 

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan/ McCormick’s Sales Incentive Bonus (SIB) Plan/ McCormick’s Dividend Program.
