We are looking to hire a Senior Demand Planner immediately in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

POSITION OVERVIEW: 

The Senior Demand Planner executes the demand forecasting strategy for a medium-volume and medium complexity portfolio, accountable for $500+ million of annual sales revenue. In addition to strong analytical and statistical experience, this role also requires collaboration and multifunctional partnerships with functions such as Finance, Marketing, and Sales. This role requires strong communication and influencing skills with the senior levels across the organization. The position participates in the monthly Commercial Review/Consensus process within the IBP framework and the Supply review meetings. The senior demand planner provides key business insights regarding short-term and medium range volume forecasts for Marketing, volume outlooks for Sales along with leadership in developing volume projection assumptions, risks and opportunities for the business. This role supports the Product Life Cycle management through supply chain forecasting, error detection and resolution. Providing accurate forecasts and reducing forecast bias, this position enables McCormick to deliver predictable financial results and ensure cost, service and working capital goals are met.

 

 RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Customer Supply Chain, Finance, Commercialization, Supply Planning, and/or other functions as appropriate to obtain current and accurate information. Thereafter, analyze and triangulate the data from multiple sources including historical trends, statistical and machine learning models, sales assumptions, marketing assumptions, external consumption, customer forecasts, as well as commercialization of new products to ultimately create, validate, and develop the demand plan.
  • Maintains historical baseline data and trends; trouble shoots large, complex system problems with IT and GBS; develops forecast scenarios with assumptions. Evaluates KPI tracking and manages corresponding RCCA to drive improvements.
  • Communication of downstream and cross-functional impacts of material plan changes (short-term). Collaborates with marketing and sales to understand the upside opportunities and downside risks versus the demand plan.
  • Helps to influence cross-functional business partners at all levels to achieve monthly consensus on the demand plan
  • Forecast Value-Add (FVA) analysis and implementation as mid-to-long-term DP Strategy
  • Leadership role in IBP and S&OE processes (Ownership of Pre-PCR, PCR; Engagement & Support of CR, PSR, and SR)
  • Other duties as assigned

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 4-6 years of planning experience with a strong understanding of end-to-end processes.
  • Ability to critically and strategically quantify downstream and cross-functional impacts of demand plan changes
  • SAP, MS-Office tools, ERP packages and other relevant IT systems knowledge with focus on planning and forecasting.
  • CPG Experience
  • Proven level of professionalism; often influencing leaders within Marketing, Sales, Finance, Supply Planning, and Commercialization, etc. 
  • Strong collaboration and business partnering skills.
  • Strong communication & influencing skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex and disparate data sources down to incorporate key insights.
  • Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Power Point, Word, ERP (ex: SAP), ECC, APO, IBP and forecasting tools required.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience in (statistical) forecasting and knowledge Demand Planning system preferred.
  • MBA
  • IBF CPF
  • Power BI and Power Automate proficiency

Base Salary: $87,910 - $153,870

 

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
