We are looking to hire a Senior Director, Global Brand Growth Insights to join our corporate marketing team. The role will be based at McCormick's Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland and is eligible to participate in our hybrid work program (50% onsite, 50% remote per month).

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Director, Global Brand Growth Insights is responsible for unlocking the power of consumer insights to drive strategic decisions, shape our brand narratives, and enhance brand health. The individual will partner with and influence Marketing and Sales senior leadership and business teams globally to identify the biggest growth opportunities for McCormick brands and to deliver consumer & customer insights that drive measurable sales & share impact. The individual will be responsible for elevating the consumer intuition of the regional business teams and building organizational capability in the translation of breakthrough insights to brand activation. The individual will report into the VP, Global Insight and Data Science as part of McCormick’s Global Marketing organization.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and lead the global consumer insight strategy & capability to drive brand building and enhance brand health, including foundational building blocks of brand-building strategy eg segmentation, brand equity and brand architecture.
  • Work closely with Global Marketing and Regional Marketing & Sales teams to identify and translate breakthrough consumer insights into brand strategy and campaigns; provide guidance on product positioning and messaging based on consumer feedback.
  • Implement and manage processes for global brand health consumer research and tracking; provide regular reports and recommendations to the executive team on brand performance.
  • Manage experienced insight professionals; contribute to the building of a high-performance Global Insight team; foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Leverage external connections to bring fresh thinking and innovative new tools that deliver value to the McCormick top and bottom line, and establish McCormick as a global insight thought leader.
  • Optimize a dynamic, million-dollar insight spend to focus on critical priorities and ensure strong research ROI.

 

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Vendor management to ensure strong partnership and return on investment
  • Contribute to training opportunities to meet organization’s learning needs

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or MS Degree in Marketing, Consumer Insights, Analytics, Business, or other related field
  • 15+ years of experience across Market Research/Marketing in 2 or more CPG companies
  • Demonstrated depth of experience in brand building frameworks, inc. the translation of consumer insight to brand strategy and media, creative, digital, and in-store activation
  • Demonstrated depth of experience in foundational research programs to support brand building frameworks, inc. segmentation, brand equity/health measurement, brand architecture development, creative/copy development & testing, etc
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience, including ability to drive strategy, prioritize and balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of successfully leading/managing global teams
  • Ability to translate complicated information into compelling deliverables that inspire action 
  • Proficiency in interpreting, analyzing, and communicating with data 
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Power Point & Word
  • Effective strategic thinker and communicator with strong story telling ability and business presence/acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate and influence across all levels of organization
  • Excellent interpersonal/collaboration skills, including working with global, cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Product Development) and with external partners (e.g., vendors)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team to achieve business objectives and develop individual careers
