We are looking to hire a Sr Procurement Category Manager immediately in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Position Overview
Accountable to set, develop & deploy global strategies for raw material procurement, specifically within the Heat category, a highly complex $50m+ spend portfolio. Set and lead the category strategy development, in partnership with regional buying teams and with key stakeholders. Develop long-term global capacity strategy and action plan to support MKC growth plans. Develop, manage and communicate commodity insights & recommendations for key base materials. Develop sourcing strategy/recommendation for base materials &, as appropriate, lead negotiations for global agreements. Lead procurement aspects of PLP strategy into action with key senior stakeholders. Manage task force for key commodities. Plays a critical role on the Global Heat Procurement team helping to create, share, and deploy procurement best practices.
Responsibilities
- Set and lead the category strategy development, sign-off and execution for 2-3 global categories (as phase 1), in partnership with regional buying teams and with key stakeholders. Develop long-term global capacity strategy and action plan to support MKC growth plans
- Develop, manage and communicate commodity insights & recommendations for key base materials. Develop sourcing strategy/recommendation for base materials &, as appropriate, lead negotiations for global agreements
- Lead procurement aspects of Packaging PLP strategy into action with key senior stakeholders
- Create & lead global packaging steering committee for alignment and oversight of strategies & actions.
- Lead a global packaging procurement community to create, share & deploy best practices consistently. Develop the capability of the buyers through formal and informal mentoring/coaching
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in business, supply chain, finance or similar fields of study

8 years’ experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, or other applicable field
- Expertise in global procurement category management & commodity price risk management.
Strong business acumen skills with the ability to communicate across seniority levels. - High learning agility to comprehend complex global supply chains and to learn & improve from first-time situations.
- Ability to ask questions, learn, and scrutinize financial data sources, then distill down the information to a high level for executive communication(s).
- Able to quickly distill and communicate information for a broad group of stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate and influence with indirect and direct authority.
- Strong strategic thinking skills.

Base Salary: $100,870 - $176,480
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
