Senior Manager, Project Management Office


McCormick & Company, Inc., a global leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking a full-time Senior Manager, Project Management Office to join the Supply Chain Project Delivery team. This new hire will work at McCormick's global headquarters, located in Hunt Valley, MD. The Senior Manager, Project Management Office will report to a Director, Project Delivery.

Position Overview:
The Project Manager/Director is responsible for the overall business management of large-scale cross-functional projects. This role has overall accountability for the project timeline and holding cross-functional team members accountable for action completion. Identifies interdependencies and ensures the project team balances and understands the impact of cross-functional decisions. Ensures that all key milestones are met and that potential issues are elevated to the appropriate levels and stakeholders for resolution.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the list of dependent projects, processes, and decisions that need to be completed to reach overall project goals. Will resolve and balance conflicting priorities and timelines. 
  • Drive project milestones that contribute to the success and achievement of business deliverables. 
  • Maintain cross-functional view and influence across multiple functional areas, including regulatory, quality, procurement, planning, marketing, sales, packaging development, product development, engineering, manufacturing, and distribution.
  • Manage project deliverables through effective constructions of timelines, schedules, deliverables, and stakeholder management. 
  • Communicate project status to all levels of the organization as required, along with any changes to original scope and/or commitments. 
  • Develop and direct execution of the change management and training plans. 
  • Coordinate the identification and resolution of project risks and issues. Effectively utilize the project team to drive continuous improvement and facilitate resolution. 


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 8+ years of experience in a relevant business function, including large-scale project management experience
  • Previous experience leading diverse, cross-functional teams 
  • In-depth knowledge of project subject matter and various functional areas, with the ability to tie together interdependencies to achieve the greatest business impact 
  • Demonstrated presentation, negotiation, and communication skills including the ability to effectively interface with all levels of management and employees 
  • Strong influencing, collaboration, and partnering skills to grow business relationships
  • Broad understanding of end-to-end business processes including regulatory, quality, procurement, planning, marketing, sales, engineering, manufacturing, etc. 
  • PMP certification highly preferred
