Senior Sourcing Risk Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role is responsible for the development and deployment of Global Procurement Risk Strategy, and is critical in the ongoing drive to assure supply and improve supplier resiliency. This includes thought leadership, discovery, design, identification and, working across the regions to implement cohesive and consistent solutions to manage the risk in our inbound supply chain. Market awareness and ability to identify emerging issues will be critical in helping the risk program build a competitive advantage for our business. Proximity to the Chief Risk Officer, and enterprise programs, tools and processes will also be essential for success.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, lead and deploy risk management strategy and programs for Procurement encompassing, Supply Risk, Human Rights, Labor, Environmental and other Ethical risks
  • Support / lead development and execution of change management approaches to drive risk strategy deployment and implementation
  • Partner with the analytics and digital teams to augment capabilities within Procurement risk management, aligned with the Chief Risk Officer
  • Coordinate and directly perform risk monitoring, analysis and reporting, providing Procurement leadership with timely insights and prioritization recommendations to mitigate risk.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics/Purchasing/Risk Management
  • Strategic thinker, with a performance history of delivering strong results

 

  • Strong business acumen, high personal integrity, common sense, analytical thinking, and global supply chain knowledge.
  • Experience working in a large and or global procurement environment, including work with best in class processes, tools and procedures
  • Experience and understanding of the global supply chain environment
  • Knowledge of leveraging best in class risk tools and understanding change management
  • Broad perspective on industry tools and creating business case models
  • Experienced gathering and working with internal and external data, in both structured and unstructured formats.
  • Ability to work with structured and unstructured data
  • Experience of interacting and influencing with senior leadership levels across the organization.
  • Strategic mindset, able to identify risk in business and category plans

 

  • Strong process orientation, including understanding processes and core management activities, and ability to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Must be self motivated, and have an ability to manage virtual teams and develop capability in others through the roll out of specific programs and processes
  • Understands the business dynamics and business needs and is able to read between the lines to identify where and how they can be supported through the establishment of riskl tools, models processes and outputs.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply independent judgment to solve problems.
  •  Relentless accountability for results – and can make the tough decisions, while holding true to McCormick's ETHICS principles
  • Ability to influence with and without authority in a full 360 degree spectrum in order to secure buy in to strategic solutions and programs
