POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Trade Marketing Manager III bridges Field Sales and Marketing, leading strategic sales promotion plans and resolving issues to support national business goals and achieve sales and profit targets. This new hire will report to the Director of Trade Marketing (Spices and Extracts, Dry Recipe Mix, Seafood and Mayonesa).  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a portfolio greater than $1BN in annual sales.
  • Participate in the annual brand planning process.  Own translating strategic direction from Marketing (annual and ad hoc) into National and market specific category strategies for deployment to Field Sales for execution.
  • Actively finds and provides insights to and participate in joint planning sessions with Field Sales (managers and brokers) to ensure one comprehensive plan.
  • Aid with development and coordination of Sales and Customer initiatives/plans related to new products introductions.
  • Allocation of incremental marketing/trade funds develop and implement promotional event reviews and evaluation of trade spending
  • Finds resolutions to various, often unique, Sales and Customer issues related to deal economics, sales, production, supply chain, and/or marketing.
  • Participate in new item and promotion forecasts to ensure customer service needs are met; includes working with Marketing and Supply Chain via the IBP process.
  • Assist in managing inventory and production needs as necessary.
  • Work along with Marketing, Category Management, Revenue Management and other cross functional partners on strategic initiatives related to major customer sales opportunities.
  • Deliver monthly and ad hoc reporting for trade, innovation and other business needs
  • Attend strategic customer meetings 4-6 times per year to assist in the sell-in process of category programming and innovation. (new)
  • Hire, manage and develop direct reports.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Analytics or other related fields
  • 8+ years of consumer product good experience with at least 3+ years of direct customer selling experience and sales planning execution
  • Ability to set strategic direction and handle complexity
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office including PowerPoint and Excel (new)
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.  Will be required to manage multiple projects at the same time while managing day to day tasks and objectives
  • Indepth understanding of how Sales integrates with Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and the Business; indepth knowledge of industry and market operation
  • Must be able to work with large data sets including pulling and interrupting data independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Will be required to present to large groups of people virtually and in person
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to relocate for future opportunities
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA
  • Experience working in CPG industry sector and competitive landscape

Base Salary: 140,500 - 239,000 

 

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan/ McCormick’s Sales Incentive Bonus (SIB) Plan/ McCormick’s Dividend Program.
