Solutions Architect, Platform and Storage Services (Hybrid)

The role of the Solutions Architect specializing in Platform and Storage Services is to enable business and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization. This role is responsible for designing complex technical or business systems that support core organizational functions. This includes fit for purpose solutions, ensuring systems maintain data confidentiality, integrity and availability aligned with the sensitivity and criticality warranted. They will also provide technical leadership across the organization, from strategic decision making down to assisting with product line and agile project planning and scoping. Furthermore, this role will provide technology guidance, road maps, principles, standards, and best practices, and is an evangelist for communicating and promoting our platform capabilities to the organization. Also, this position will work as part of solutions architecture in alignment integrated architecture services organization to enable platform solutions that ate fit for purpose.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide platform services architecture thought leadership, provide guidance on platform integration, align business strategy with architecture goals and contribute to the new product line agile work approach
  • Evaluating business technology strategies, research best practice and build business cases to deliver platform technology roadmaps
  • Work with Integrated architecture teams to develop and grow a sustainable IT Solutions Architecture model with consistent practices. Create a model that enables multi-model, multi-speed architecture to meet the platform needs of different functions
  • Addresses the most complex IT Architecture design and troubleshooting problems within IT. This typically involves large, inter-dependent cross functional business units and complex systems. Suggesting ideas to reduce costs in IT and core business areas
  • Consults with project teams to fit projects to established architecture patterns, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the standard architectural patterns. Ensures the conceptual completeness of the technical solutions



  • Bachelor’s degree in a Technical or Business field as it relates to the specific Architecture discipline. (Extensive experience may substitute for a degree
  • 5 or more years of IT and business/industry work experience including solution design and deployment, systems lifecycle management, business process analysis and/or infrastructure planning and operations
  • The ability to act as liaison conveying information needs of the business to IT and technology/capability constraints to the business

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations

  • A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance

  • Highly competent in VMware virtualization platforms and Nutanix hyper-converged systems

  • Highly competent in working with Storage hardware and virtualized storage (E.G. SAN, VSAN, Nutanix storage clustering)

  • Experience designing and building new virtual environments and the associated hardware
