We are looking to hire a Supplier Quality Senior Manager immediately in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Position Overview: Reporting to the Supplier Quality Sr Director, the Supplier Quality Senior Manager has oversight for all activities that impact Quality and Food Safety at Suppliers and holds responsibility and alignment with Supply Chain for the leadership and development of primarily regional and secondarily Global Contract Manufacturers and Supplier Quality Managers. This position is a manager of people with 2-3 direct reports. This role represents Supplier Quality in regional meetings with Ops Quality, Procurement and other business partners as needed to ensure SQ's interests are considered. This role has the knowledge of food safety and quality for products made, as well as site Quality and Regulatory Standards compliance. This role manages a multicultural team of Supplier Quality Managers and Associates and ensures effective support is provided by the team to drive and improve Suppliers’ performance and support key business initiatives (NPDs, CCI, derisking). This role provides leadership and expertise for the development, maintenance, and improvement of Key Quality and Food safety programs and suppliers, throughout McCormick to solve complex issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and guide McCormick stakeholders in selection, development, and/or maintenance of Suppliers, Co-Mans, Licensees.
- Development and leadership of vendor/supplier/procurement communication and education of quality and food safety risk and be the point person for your assigned categories and be the point person for region/categories. Lead supplier onboarding, development, maintenance, improvement, and disqualification processes. Lead supplier onboarding, development, maintenance, improvement, and disqualification processes.
- Lead regional and global incidents – complaint investigations and claims. Responsible for ensuring food safety and quality issue decision-making, communication and alignment at the appropriate levels of the organization for clarity and speed of decision.
- Develop a team with the core skills and competencies necessary to support future strategies and encourage self and team to continually question assumptions to identify new opportunities.
- Coach site/team on understanding and managing risk and to build the skills necessary within site/team to support your risk management plans. Build a business case for risk mitigation and avoidance.
- Talent Management and Development for Team – responsible for organizational strategy and execution inclusive of Talent Reviews, Succession/Progression Planning, Development Plans, Performance Management of Direct Reports, Hiring Process Involvement, etc. In collaboration with functional peers, iIdentifies needs and develops and implements training solutions to establish and improve the capabilities. Subject Matter Expert with in-depth knowledge of specific category aspects acting as the category authority. Development and leadership of vendor/supplier/procurement communication and education of quality and food safety risk and be the point person for your assigned categories and be the point person for region/categories.

Required Qualifications:
Level of Education and Discipline: Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline OR Relevant McCormick experience in a technical management field while in pursuit of a degree could also be considered
Certification and/or Licenses: Participation in leadership coursework per appropriate level required Certification or training focused on Quality and Food Safety for Supply Chain requirement: PCQI (or HACCP based on region) Auditing proficiencies required through training or certification (i.e. ASQ, CFSQA) Technical quality knowledge training or certification preferred (CQE, CSSBB) certified quality engineer or Six Sigma Black Belt for example GFSI scheme (i.e. SQF, BRC) management experience required.
Experience - functional/industry/commercia l knowledge, business acumen: 7 + years preferred in biological science or quality related discipline. Experience in at least one Quality focus areas (Customer, Operations, Regulatory, Supplier, Global CoE) or related function, including Supply Chain, Product Development preferred
Other Skills and HPO Competencies: Decision Making: Make decisions for supplier, team and/or region on the Quality and Regulatory Standards and make effective decisions where the standard does not apply or exist using cross functional team and/or external input. Ability to use, train, and coach supplier/team to use appropriate root cause analysis decision tools for decision making Financial Acumen: Develop strategy for key financial topics for operating units and/or region, including: o Budgeting cycle o Capital planning o Expense processes Quality, Food Safety and Regulatory Culture, Programs, Standards: Monitors and understands Quality and Regulatory best practices and developments. Supports internal, end-to-end Quality and Regulatory Excellence within Supplier, Operations, Customer, and Regulatory areas. Continually uses Quality and Regulatory knowledge to improve competitive position. Is connected to industry boards and external industry networks to increase internal awareness of trends and best practices English required and others specific to region/responsibilities Travel: 20%

Base Salary: $103,530 to $181,150
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
