This new hire will work in the Spice Mill Plant, located at 10901 Gilroy Road  in Hunt Valley, MD. The Production Team Manager  will report to a Operations Manager

The Production Team Manager is responsible for managing and directing all activities and processes related to designated business teams in operations. This Team Manager utilizes HPO and TPM methodologies to enhance employee skills and capabilities, ensures effective and reliable production processes, develops a culture of continuous improvement and drives total employee ownership, engagement, and empowerment. S/he is accountable for quality, safety, productivity, cost, sanitation, continuous improvement and all aspects of people management for one or more production lines across all applicable shifts.  S/he supervises and coordinates activities of Technicians engaged in processing and/or packaging product, ensures Technicians and Crew Leaders are trained and developed in the safe and optimal operation of equipment, as well as behavioral and leadership competencies, and manages the development & performance of team members.   The Team Manager ensures organization standards are met in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability, Cost, and Service and interacts with other Team Managers to coordinate activities between departments.


  • Meet the needs of the customer 100% of the time while achieving key indicator results that support our strategic objectives, goals, strategies and measures (OGSMs)
  • Effectively teach, coach, train, develop, evaluate and mentor team members / direct reports, while fostering a team environment
  • Utilizes and instills TPM methodologies to meet or exceed all production goals: Process Reliability, Cost, Waste, Safety, Quality, Sanitation, and other performance standards
  • Establish standards as appropriate.
  • Support and develop McCormick High Performance Organization (HPO) Business Teams to ensure information flow, employee development, recognition, problem-solving, goal-setting and Comprehensive Continuous Improvement (CCI) are an integral part of daily activities
  • Interact cross-functionally to resolve issues and ensure customer service requirements are met
  • Work with teams to develop cultural and action plans to ensure continuous improvement throughout the plant
  • Pro-actively recommend and implement process and capital improvement initiatives to increase operational effectiveness and efficiencies
  • Direct and support the daily management and prioritization of resources to achieve goals


  • Minimum one year of experience managing direct reports within a manufacturing plant and/or distribution center / warehouse
  • Demonstrated understanding of the financial impact of business decisions affecting staffing, product components and inventory
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to resolve issues
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to propose and implement improvements to systems, methods of work and analysis methods and contribute to ensuring that they are continuously adapted to the business requirements.
  • Formal leadership training and demonstrated practice of leadership principles
  • Understanding of cost benefits / economic logic of how decisions affect business results


  • Bachelor's Degree
