The Trade Marketing Sales Intern will work closely with the Trade Marketing Team, which is a critical function of our North American Consumer Products Division Sales Team. This is a 10-week internship (June 2027- August 2027) which requires 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Trade Marketing operates as a key component of the Sales Team within the Consumer Product Division. Our role is to help develop and execute go-to-market strategies that drive success across brand, shopper, category, and customer initiatives. As a leader across spices, seasonings, condiments, and more, we provide thought leadership to both internal and external stakeholders by delivering customer-facing insights, business analysis, and forecasts. Trade Marketing serves as a critical link between Marketing and Sales, helping communicate company and brand strategies to the sales field while also bringing the voice of the customer and sales organization back to our brand marketing teams. Through close collaboration with cross-functional partners, we help ensure strategies are translated into effective in-store execution that drives brand growth and shopper engagement. Through this internship, you will gain exposure to business-critical projects, data analysis, strategic planning, and leadership opportunities while working alongside a wide variety of sales and marketing partners. A successful candidate will demonstrate curiosity, a willingness to learn, and the ability to engage and influence diverse groups of colleagues to drive positive business results.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Trade Marketing Sales Intern will work on real and current business challenges, identifying brand, shopper, and market trends and transforming insights into actionable business recommendations. The intern will support go-to-market initiatives by helping evaluate and drive in-store execution strategies that bring brand plans to life at retail. Responsibilities may include analyzing sales and market data, supporting customer and category projects, developing presentations and recommendations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams across Sales and Marketing.
Candidates should have a strong desire to learn various aspects of Sales and Trade Marketing, be flexible and open to a variety of assignments, and possess strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to understand how brand strategy is translated into retail execution while gaining exposure to customer-focused selling and business planning.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide analysis and shopper insight-driven recommendations supporting our annual business plans, using all key-business drivers: merchandising, assortment, pricing, and shelving (MAPS)
- Leverage all available analytic tools to develop trade strategies, maximizing McCormick’s performance metric
- Other projects assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with a target graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in a Business, Marketing, Communications, Analytics, or related field
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to filter, prioritize, analyze, and validate complex information to develop strategies
- Ability to work independently, learn new tasks, solve problems, and show strong self-motivation and initiative
- Must be able to prioritize and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) at all levels of the organization and external customers
- Ability to potentially travel overnight on a few occasions
