Trade Marketing Sales Intern Summer 2024

McCormick & Company, Incorporated is seeking a full-time Trade Marketing Sales Intern located at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD. The Trade Marketing Sales Intern will work closely with the Trade Marketing Team, which is a critical function of our North American Consumer Products Division Sales Team. This is a 10-week internship (June 2024- August 2024) which requires 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

As part of the Trade Marketing Sales Team, you will help provide support in the development and execution of our go-to-market strategy for brand, shopper, and category initiatives. As a leader across spices, seasonings, condiments and more, we are responsible for providing thought leadership to internal and external stakeholders, including sales and marketing teams, as well as supporting the Trade Marketing group with customer-facing analysis and related forecasts. Through this internship, you will get exposure to business-critical projects, data analysis and strategy development, and personal and team leadership opportunities, while collaborating with cross functional team members in sales, marketing, finance, and third-party brokers. A successful candidate will have a natural curiosity, willingness to learn, and the ability to engage and influence a diverse group of colleagues - all to drive positive business results.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Trade Marketing Sales Intern will work on a real and current business challenges, identifying brand and market trends and turn their findings into an actionable business recommendation. Candidates should have the desire to learn various skills associated with Sales and be flexible and open to all assignments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide analysis and shopper insight-driven recommendations supporting our annual business plans, using all key-business drivers: merchandising, assortment, pricing, and shelving (MAPS)
• Leverage all available analytic tools to develop trade strategies, maximizing McCormick’s performance metric
• Other projects as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with a target graduation date between December 2024 and May 2025
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in a Business, Marketing, Communications, Analytics, or related field
• Strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to filter, prioritize, analyze, and validate complex information to develop strategies
• Ability to work independently, learn new tasks, solve problems, and show strong self-motivation and initiative
• Must be able to prioritize and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization and external customers
• Ability to potentially travel overnight on a few occasions
