We are looking to hire a VP, Enterprise Architecture to join the team based at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland. This position will be eligible to participate in McCormick's hybrid work program (50% onsite, 50% remote per month).

Position Overview
As the Vice President of Enterprise Architecture, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organization's technology landscape. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive enterprise architecture strategy that aligns with our business objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of technology trends and a proven track record of delivering innovative yet practical business solutions and an applied enterprise architecture approach focused on sustainably enabling business outcomes at scale
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Thinking

Develop and implement a long-term enterprise architecture vision, roadmap and strategy that supports the organization's business goals.

Identify emerging technologies and trends that can provide a competitive advantage.

Collaborate with functional executive leadership to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
Governance
-
Establish and oversee a robust governance framework for IT architecture, including standards, guidelines, and policies.

Ensure adherence to architectural principles and best practices across the organization.

Conduct regular reviews of the IT architecture to identify opportunities for optimization and innovation through establishment of an Architectural Review Board (ARB).

Ensure all new technology go through the appropriate vetting process (security, privacy, vendor compliance and technology fit)

Work In conjunction with IT procurement and vendor management to ensure all technology spend is reviewed appropriately.
Technical Leadership

Provide technical leadership and guidance to fellow technology associates to ensure adherence to architecture principles and vision.

Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools to support business needs.

Identify and mitigate potential technical risks and challenges.

Establish frameworks to guide technical teams on cloud provisioning
Team Management

Lead and mentor solution and technical architects.within the Technology and Transformation organization.

Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Identify, recruit and develop top talent.
Stakeholder Management
-
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business/functional leaders, Technology and Transformation teams, technology providers and external solution integrators.

Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Represent the organization at external technology events and conferences.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and smooth execution of IT initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- At least 20 years IT experience with at least 15 years experience in the area of enterprise architecture or senior solution architecture and implementing business systems and technology
- Bachelor’s degree in a Technical or Business field or additional 5+ years of experience in lieu of degree

Highly competent in one or more Enterprise Architecture disciplines with good knowledge of other EA domains.

Demonstrated expertise in product/application security architecture – Service oriented architecture (SOA), Network security, application security, web services, Development platforms as well as integration platforms and development approach.

Ability to interpret business strategies into technology solutions.

Previous experience with continuous, technology tools, and programming languages such as Java, C#, etc…

Good operating systems knowledge – Windows, Linux, Unix.

Demonstrated knowledge of Data platforms and Data management and governance. (Data Lakes, Data Lakehouses, Data warehouse).

Demonstrated knowledge of Data ingestion platforms.

Ability to understand how to apply AI concepts for value realization within the enterprise.

Previous experience in Cloud technologies and platforms (Azure, GCPP, AWS, OCI, …)

Previous experience with one or more Architecture modeling platforms.

Good knowledge of major ERP’s (preferably SAP) as well as other enterprise systems.

Ability to determine approach of buy vs build concepts.

Experience planning and deploying both business and IT initiatives.

Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations.
Base Salary: $200,280-360,470
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan/ McCormick’s Sales Incentive Bonus (SIB) Plan/ McCormick’s Dividend Program.
