Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Facilities Manager or EHS Manager, this position must be able to install and align equipment, fabricate and/or repair machine parts from verbal instructions, plans, and drawings, as well as perform basic masonry and concrete work. This is a large facility (approx. 350,000 sq. ft) and the position will require flexibility with shift and workday assignments to support. business need requirements. (For example, there may be a need to work a flex schedule on another shift.) These are usually short-term requests.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will be required to operate the Wastewater treatment equipment
  • Minor plumbing repairs and perform inspections on equipment
  • Basic troubleshooting with the facility wastewater system
  • Completing all required documentation (computerized and paper) associated with performing maintenance tasks SAP. Use Excel sheets.
  • Operate various equipment to purify and clarify water, process it, or dispose of sewage. 
  • Monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges, adjusting controls to regulate flows within the plant. 
  • Perform preventative and routine maintenance, repair and cleaning of wastewater treatment plant equipment and systems, including pumps, valves, and chemical feeding systems. 
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the solids handling process, dewatering equipment and chemical feed systems. 
  • Collect and test water and sewage samples.
  • Test and adjust chemical feeding rates to ensure the quality of the water treatment. 
  • Troubleshoot, identify root cause, and recommend improvements on a continuous basis with cross functional team.
  • Follow U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and ensure safety standards are met and follow safety protocols. 
  • Maintain lift and pump stations, including pump rebuilding and cleaning

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Acceptable attendance
  • Meets standards in overall performance rating in most recent performance review.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to use rigging equipment such as portable cranes, chain falls, slings.
  • Ability to use all hand power tools including portable saws and masonry drills.
  • Must have or the ability to obtain a forklift license along with an aerial life license.
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints or PID drawings.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate must have knowledge of P.M. practices preferred.
  • Plant wastewater treatment system experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of plumbing required.
  • Understand how to monitor PH and understand the laws and fines that can occur if not met.
  • Knowledge and understanding of fire safety systems preferred.
