POSITION OVERVIEW

 

Under the general direction of the Maintenance Team Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a variety of production equipment at our facility.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in all maintenance crafts to include basic electrical, mechanics, welding, machine shop required. 
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to closely interact with co-workers in and outside of the Maintenance Department
  • Demonstrated ability to methodically analyze and correct problems of a varied nature on a wide range of equipment and support systems required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.   
  • Must be able to become a certified forklift operator required.
  • Must be agile enough to maneuver around equipment, climb stairs, and go up and down ladders to reach various equipment required 
  • Ability to work overtime daily and weekends, sometimes with minimal notice.  Flexibility with shift hours is required
  • Ability to work up to heights of 45 ft. on material handling equipment required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CMMS and Microsoft Office
  • Candidate must have knowledge of Planned Maintenance practices
  • Demonstrated process improvement ability and leadership
  • Must be able to successfully work individually and as part of a team

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3-5 years related experience
  • Minimum of one year experience supervising employees in a manufacturing / production / industrial environment
  • Minimum of one year experience leading others through a project(s) or initiative(s)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work across functions and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving capabilities to assess risk
  • Demonstrated understanding of the financial impact of business decisions effecting staffing, product components and inventory
  • Experience successfully leading large teams to support business initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to be a dynamic self-starter, work independently and apply sound judgment to solve complex problems with incomplete and/or ambiguous information required and to proactively initiate action steps
  • Experience successfully handling multiple projects at once and working under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to resolve issues
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to propose and implement improvements to systems, methods of work and analysis methods and contribute to ensuring that they are continuously adapted to the business requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in food processing
  • Experience in plumbing, millwright and carpentry
  • Welding experience including certification in basic welding preferred
  • PLC and Industrial electrical experience desired
  • Robotic and Conventional Palletizer experience desired
  • Dense phase pneumatic conveying experience desired
  • Hands on experience with new equipment installation is desirable
  • Experience with boiler, chillers, air compressors is desirable
  • Trade school, certificate or apprenticeship in industrial maintenance preferred.
  • Experience in food processing equipment desirable
  • Ability to read to read and interpret electrical schematics and relay logic preferred.
