PROCUREMENT MANAGER

Kemalpaşa, İzmir, TR

 

Directly responsible for the strategy and management of Turkey Plant Procurement including but not limited to Raw Materials, Ingredients, Packaging and indirect procurement.  Primary responsibility is to ensure availability of raw materials at optimum levels to execute and deliver short- and long-term supply which supports the objectives of superior customer service, total delivered cost and working capital targets. Accountable for development, optimisation, de-risking and execution of raw materials, ingredients, packaging and indirect sourcing.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Minimise total cost of Ingredients purchases through use of professional procurement methods and best practice to identify major opportunities for cost reduction and service enhancements to the business. Report on defined savings projects, forecasts and results through the company agreed tool.
  • Accountable for purchasing $28M Raw material and packaging material per annum
  • Select and develop best in class suppliers to meet business needs identified through cross functional teams within the business.
  • Ensure price negotiations, alternative suppliers, contingency plans and create annual de-risking programs
  • Assist cross-functional teams/project leader to meet price and timing targets for the development of new products.
  • Communicate vendor management programme to suppliers to ensure they understand and meet cost, quality and service level targets.
  • Responsible for the development and cross-training within the Procurement Department and promote the use of Total quality and Creative Problem-Solving techniques to resolve problems and drive continuous improvement. Linking with EMEA Procurement activities & developing 3 -5 year plans.
  • Develop systems, processes, and procedures for McCormick Kütaş to ensure effective and efficient procurement standards are maintained.
  • Maintain purchasing systems and produce reports to ensure accurate management information is available to make business related decisions.
  • Tracking Customs and Agricultural and Ministry Service regulation for foreign trade.
  • Responsible of all importing procedure, preparing documentation and duty-levy rate calculation.
  • Reduce import/customs cost through arranging best shipment organization of goods.
  • Monitor and measure supplier performance including ‘On Time in Full and Supplier Quality’ deliveries from suppliers, to continuously improve material availability. Drive actions in accordance with Regional/Global Vendor Assurance and Procurement Teams, where necessary to address non-conformance to targets
  • Coordinate the process and maintain accurate records of documentation needed to facilitate the seamless importing of raw materials, ensuring delivery on process audit targets.
  • Attend business reviews and participate in project team activity as required, to meet the needs of the business.
  • Audit master data and maintain MRP settings to enable most efficient lead times and inventory levels, while ensuring service.
  • Project Management for continuous improvement, lead and execute compressive continuous improvement projects to ensure company saving/cost targets are met
  • Comply with all the rules concerning Health and Safety, to ensure that all equipment is operated safely and to report any accident, injury or unsafe practice in accordance with procedures

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Undergraduate Degree (or equivalent) from Economics or Engineering.  A relevant post graduate qualification in Procurement is desirable, but not essential.
  • Minimum 10 years of procurement experience at a professional level ideally in FMCG and food production work environment
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in a business-related subject, economics or business administration.  Preference for an individual Certified in Purchasing.
  • Track record of achieving results through saving and agility
  • Work Experience in a multinational company
  • Ability to work in matrix organization structures
  • Experience in import and customs clearance process
