SAFETY HEALTH & ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER

   Kemalpaşa, İzmir

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Health and Safety Leadership: Set and drive the health and safety agenda within McCormick, engaging the entire business in its implementation.
  • Environmental Management: Oversee and lead the environmental agendas for the Turkey and Dubai Plants, aligning with global and regional strategies and plans.
  • Sustainability Metrics; Lead and drive sustainability agendas of both Turkey and Dubai sites. Collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver sustainability targets.
  • Operational Works: keeps record, prepare and follow audit documentation, prepare some legal documentation etc
  • Proactive Risk Management: Implement a proactive approach to managing health and safety risks, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Health and Safety Advocacy: Champion health and safety within the business, fostering a positive and inclusive safety culture.
  • Legislative Preparedness: Keep the business informed and prepared for upcoming changes in health and safety legislation, maintaining the legal register and liaising with external bodies as needed.
  • Reporting: Provide monthly reports on health and safety performance and sustainability, including key indicators and relevant statistics, to EMEA Managers.
  • Training and Development: Identify needs, arrange and lead trainings for appropriate health and safety training for staff.
  • Committee Representation: Represent the Turkey and Dubai Plants on McCormick’s Regional and Global Health and Safety Committees.
  • Safety Advisory: Advise on health and safety aspects in the design, layout, and use of new or modified equipment and processes.
  • Inspections and Improvements: Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc safety inspections, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Record Maintenance: Ensure health, safety, and environmental records are maintained according to legislative requirements and company policy.
  • Collaboration: Work with all levels of personnel within the company and relevant external agencies to facilitate health, safety, and environmental improvements.
  • System Monitoring: Continuously monitor and audit health and safety systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation and company policy, with a focus on risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Waste Management: Manage the Waste Water Treatment Facility and all waste removal activities, ensuring compliance with corporate requirements and local regulations.
  • Team Support: Facilitate and support the Turkey and Dubai Site Safety Action Teams.

 

 

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

 

  • Educational Background: Engineering Diploma and ideally holding B Class Health and Safety Certificate.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in operational roles, ideally within the food industry. Ability to execute through leading teams and also an individual performer, acting hands on to deliver results.
  • Health and Safety: Proven track record in achieving high Health and Safety standards.
  • Special Skills: Experience in managing a wastewater treatment facility is highly valued.
  • Leadership: Demonstrates strong practical skills with clear leadership and influencing abilities.
  • Influence: Ability to effectively influence colleagues at all levels within the organization.
  • Flexibility: Capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Vision: Committed to improving site health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Technical Skills: Good level of computer literacy.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with regional and global diverse teams.
