Under the direction of the Engineering Department and Maintenance Manager, the Industrial Electrician will support the maintenance needs; both mechanical and electrical, allowing the business to run seamlessly. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing production/processing equipment safely, to reduce machine-related downtime, eliminate losses, and improve machine reliability. It also requires the ability to work in a team environment, working with cross-functional departments to meet business needs. We are an FDA and USDA facility with high safety, quality, operations and maintenance standards.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment including: motors, pumps, valves, agitators, circuit boards, PLCs, VFDs, fans, blowers, etc. and a general understanding of air compressors, chillers, boilers, dust collectors, HVAC, and other utility equipment.
  • Repair, replace and install sensors, actuators, transformers, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, switches, defective writing, etc.
  • Training: Provide technical expertise to train and support other maintenance technicians as well as other cross-functional departments to create an environment of continuous learning.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, technical specs, electrical drawings, etc.
  • Completes Work Orders in SAP
    • Fills out all associated work performed on the requested work order
    • Provides commentary/notes of the work completed
    • Provides time to complete the job
    • Inputs all parts consumed for job
    • Provides pictures and documentation of work completed
  • Completes Root-Cause-Analysis documentation / Breakdown Analysis
    • Troubleshoots and investigates reoccurring issues
    • Provides solutions to the Engineering Department
    • Creates PM's based off RCA findings
  • Performs all work in a safe and clean manner, performs Lock-out Tag-out procedure correctly when working on equipment, follows all safety procedures correctly when welding, cutting, polishing, reports food safety risks and abides by GMP standards.
  • Operate heavy equipment including: boom lifts, scissor lifts, fork lifts, lulls, etc.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • AA degree in Industrial Electronics/Electrical Engineering Technology or completion of an approved apprenticeship in industrial electrical maintenance or 5-7 years direct applicable experience required. 

  • Three to Five years of plant maintenance experience required.  

  • Must be able to develop control logic including prints and installation of control wiring and troubleshoot PLC/Solid State control instruments. 

  • Proficient in the use of applications of test equipment such as multimeters required. 

  • Must have a working knowledge and field experience with process/programmable controllers and AC/DC drives.

  • Industrial control wiring experience required. 

  • Must possess the ability to read and interpret instrument drawings and control schematics.

  • Ability to lift 70lbs.  

  • Overtime/Weekends required
