Position Overview

Under the direction of Process Engineer, the Process Technician is responsible for troubleshooting production issues, particularly TECO (Technically Complete) processes, and ensuring smooth production operations. This role involves managing production schedules, analyzing batch ticket data, and updating key performance indicators (KPIs), including RedZone metrics. The Process Technician will use Excel to manipulate and report on data, support process improvements, and ensure compliance with HACCP standards. Additionally, the role includes providing finished goods labels, reporting on material expiry, and maintaining documentation for process and equipment standards to drive continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot issues to production all system generated forms.
  • Completes entry of daily and weekly production schedules and production receipts
  • Provides daily print out of production schedule for teams.
  • Research variances in production runs and material usage.
  • Completes TECO process for all production runs.
  • Troubleshoot and investigate root cause of TECO issues.
  • Updates Throughput numbers for plant KPI report outs and DDS board
  • Responsible for printing and providing finished goods labels to production team in absence of crew lead.
  • Weekly report out of expiry materials both finished and raw materials to help reduce IAR.
  • Provides copies of production paperwork to crew leads.
  • Completes paperwork checks for batch sheets at end of runs for HACCP compliance.
  • Back up for requisition of non-inventoried items.
  • Provide process improvement ideation and execution to operations teams and support functions under the direction of the CI Manager.

 

  • As part of the Continuous Improvement team, set appropriate documentation and storage standards for equipment and processes that will facilitate training document completion.

 

  • Process and analyze data from batch tickets across various operational areas (production, quality, safety, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain Excel reports, including data manipulation and statistical analysis.
  • Create visual representations of data through charts and tables.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity for informed decision-making.
  • JTE systems and tool implementation and utilization to develop operation and support teams capabilities.
  • Change management system execution for initiative implementations.
  • Utilize tools for reporting to analyze data with the intent on improvement of Operational based standards and processes.
 

 

Secondary Responsibilities: As part of the CI Team, to assist with implementation of key JTE tool and methodologies to support throughout the site.  Collaborate with other CI team members on current best approaches on execution of keys systems to support improvement.  Actively participate in site initiatives and processes that impact site KPIs.

Certification and/or Licenses

 

 

Experience - functional/industry/ commercial knowledge, business acumen

Must possess a minimum of 2 years of production, warehousing, or equivalent experience. Working knowledge of production and warehouse systems and standards, with the ability to collaborate with operations teams as needed.  Ability to facilitate meetings is a MUST. Working knowledge of JTE systems and standards is a preferred but not required.  May be a new/recent graduate with relevant co-op/internship experience.

Interpersonal Skills - leadership, interactions, communication, influence

This position requires excellent cross functional communication skills and full involvement with warehousing systems. Provides mentoring, coaching, and leading through process improvement.  Provide feedback to operations teams on solutions to drive out loss by recommending improvements within the department.  Process ownership of key systems and standards related to Continuous Improvement.

Other Skills and HPO Competencies

The successful candidate should detail oriented, have strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities, demonstrated collaborative skill base.  Have grammatical and organizational skills and must be a self-starter, who is able to work independently. Mastery in MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word) required.

Ability to coach and lead small groups in problem solving methodologies, multi-task, and deliver continuous improvement systems.

Other Skills and HPO Competencies

TPM knowledge and experience with systems including DDS, 5S, etc., is preferred to support our Journey to Excellence or JTE.  Knowledge of SAP, Power BI, ProMapp, and Adobe is a plus.
